Facelift New Orders?

Does this mean that our PFL cars will need to be fitted with this GPF that is going on the new ones?

No, only applies to cars post sept 2018

I'm looking for some too. I think one of the dealers on carwow were saying they had new unregistered cars that they would register in September but after that, they won't get any until the books open again.

Yeah I think the earliest they were talking about books opening around January time but they'll be a rush to get them. Can't imagine it'll last much longer anyway since the next gen A3 must be ready soon. Also the new A45 could be announced at the Paris show which is soon.

A few guys in Australia who have had their orders cancelled have been told they won’t be bringing in any more Rs3. The car had been removed from the Audi Aust website.

It’s hard to say what’s going to happen but it isn’t looking good over here for prospective rs3 buyers.

Wouldn’t the TTRS and RsQ3 be affected as they have the same engine?

I suppose if they cannot make it WLTP compliant they will drop and focus on next version A3/S3/RS3 etc.

I recall reading an article in Autocar some months back in which they interviewed the CEO of the Volkswagen Group about WLTP, who said that no other manufacturer/group has so many different models/variants that are all required to be tested, and that they don't physically have enough test benches to ensure they are all compliant in time for the deadline, going on to say that some models will have to have production halted.

I would imagine that cars like the RS3/TTRS, while we love them, are low volume cars that will not be at the top of there list. Who knows, perhaps they will just can production and wait for the next model if it takes too long.

Edit: here is an update from Autocar released last week...

Any 68 reg rs3’s going about yet
Picking mine up next Friday. Been too busy with work to do it sooner.

Genuinely wasn’t looking for an RS3 either, wanted an s3 saloon but WLTP pushed it back into a delivery time of *maybe* April 2019. Found this RS3 spec’d how I wanted it, and actually got a very decent discount on it.... next Friday can’t come soon enough!

Where did you get it from?

Must surely help with residuals for us current owners...

Nice. What spec and colour you getting?
RS3 Saloon, Panther Black, 19" '5-arm-blade' alloys in Gloss anthracite, SuperSports Seats, Audi Sports Pack, Comfort and Sound Pack, Gloss Back Styling Pack, Privacy Glass, Door mirrors (folding and auto-dimming), Red brake callipers.

I cannot fooking wait (current rocking a 184TDI Seat Leon FR DSG...)

very nice spec mate, just missing the pano roof :whistle2: Love that colour, will keep you busy keeping her clean :icon thumright: So only more than doubling your BHP...Nice!

Had a pano roof with previous A3 (150 TDi)... I swore I would never have another after that, so. many. rattles!!! It was nice in the summer tho...

Yeah, about keeping it clean, I worked out I've cleaned my current car 3 times in 3 years, hopefully ill be a better person this time. haha.

Adds weight too, so you will be faster :thumbs up:
Hmm, you may need to clean this one a bit more than that, or get someone to do it for you (highly recommend getting it ceramic coated)

I'm looking to jump into an RS5 shortly and I'm getting crazy valuations on my 11 month old, highly spec'd RS3... not sure this situation is doing anything for p/x valuations at the moment...

The dealers I've talked to so far haven't said it'll stop being made but we know how much they know lol. The last one said he expects new RS3s around summer next year. I emailed york audi and they sent me a video which was strange.

That will look stunning. Panther black and black in general looks great on the RS3. Takes some work to keep it looking clean and smart, though. When polished and shining it's (IMO) the best colour.

Crazy high or crazy low? Any chance of an example please...

Would imagine crazy low. 11 month old RS3...I'm going to go for £35k offered by a dealer?!

There’s a couple of rs3 in Wakefield a black saloon inside and a couple outside

No chance.
That dealer is full of even more shxt than they usually are !

I’m one that is waiting for the order books to re-open but everything i’m hearing is telling me there will be a MY19 RS3.
My dealer has said production is due to start in week 2, the Audi UK website states the RS3 has been WLTP tested and the MY19 order guides have been released for some countries, US and Canada.
Fingers crossed the order books open sooner rather than later.

Crazy low. Mine was spec’d to £56k and 2 dealers have offered me £34k! Oct 17 car, 6k miles, immaculate condition. Joke!
They were taking the **** big time when I was looking to change, a good £4k down on prices elsewhere and what I actually sold it for in the end. So bad that I'll never ask Audi for a PX again.

I was almost bang on! They are robbing, thieving ********. £22k down from list in less than a year and 6k miles...

What are you planning to do now...private sale?

I've actually just had an offer from a specialist dealer who deals in a lot of RS cars for £40K. More reasonable than £34K. Waiting to see what another dealer comes back with first but may end up selling to him.

Any reason for wanting to jump into an RS5 so soon after getting the RS3? It won't sound as good ;)

Audi do seem to mark down almost new used (if that makes sense) as far as P/X goes, then make loads of profit selling them on, a real shame.

Few of reasons for the move:
- I bought the RS3 outright and would like to release some equity from it as I'm buying a new house
- The RS5 has some pretty hefty discounts on them new (20% is achievable)
- It's still very quick albeit without the drama of the RS3
- I would like something a little more comfortable/refined

RS5’s certainly lovely looking, and not a backward step at all. Rare to get that kind of discount on any RS
