Hi all. I'm new here. I've got a 2006 Audi S4 B7 Avant. Unfortunately it only came with one key. I've been investigating and know I can buy a key with ID48 chipset and transponder from AliX or Ebay. I also know I can programme the key using my existing key through the ignition/lock/unlock process.
What I don't have is VCDS to programme the transponder chip.
Can anyone recommend a locksmith or auto key specialist in the Kent/London (UK) areas who could do this for me?
Thanks.

Coding the ID48 transponder and programming the Remote Central Locking key are two very different things

You'll also need the blade cut of course. So pretty much just simpler to pay an auto locksmith. I was quoted £120 recently

Hi. Thanks for that. Yes just today managed to get a few quotes the best of which was also £120 for me.
Sounds a bit steep when you consider the keys can be had for about £20 to £30, but I guess that's the going rate for getting it programmed.
Thanks all.
