Just joined the audi-sport forum and ordered my first Audi a white SQ5.

I've ordered it to replace my previous BMW X5 M-Sport. I had a long list of factory fitted option though managed to find a dealer who had a car being built in early February that I could take over / modify. Delivery early - mid March.

My only reservation was that the Q5 is to be replaced soon with a new model so there's every chance that by the time I replace my car there'll be a new SQ5 though I though sod-it and ahead anyway!

Very Excited overall, looking forward to Audi ownership - bye bye BMW!

Thanks!

A lot of the options were on the dealers original build I just added a few more, Phone prep high with connect, Hill hold assist, Towbar, Black styling pack, Black roof rails and the Extendable sun visors and I changed the interior from black to red/black.

The most difficult decision for me was whether to go for the standard chrome trim or change to all black. My teenage boys decided for me in the end, in their opinion black was the only option, chrome trim and silver wheels are just not the done thing - what do I know anyhow? I only buy white cars nowadays since I think they're the easiest to look after and I think the white / black combination really suits the SQ5.

I'll post some pics when the car arrives.

Will look forward to the pics. :) x

Welcome and good choice on the car. I have had my SQ5 for about 8 months now (came from an A5) and it is the best Audi I have had so far. It's quick, has plenty of room and can be quite economical. Only gripe for me is you can't spec. it with damper control/magnetic ride and with the 21s the ride can be a a bit harsh but they do look so much better than the 20s.
I wouldn't worry about the new Q5/SQ5 I think the Q5 is due out next year and I guess the SQ5 won't follow until 2017 so you can enjoy this for 2 years or so then order the next gen SQ5, that's what I plan to do, unless the new RS3 is the right price!

Hi Catflap. Have you considered installing an after market alarm? I get my SQ5 in a few weeks and I don't know if this is worth doing or not; I've read some stuff on t'internet about criminals being able to override the factory fitted alarm.

I like the sound of the Clifford alarms with the anti-jack feature but is it worth it? I'd value other people's views.

No I had't I thought the standard factory security would be adequate. I do sometime have trackers fitted - depends on the car / insurance requirements. Is the Audi system really vulnerable?

I don't think it's particular vulnerable... It's Thatcham Cat 1 so should be good. I've read something on the internet that suggest that there are some criminal gangs who have special equipment that can enable them to bypass the security so by adding after-market security devices it make the car almost impossible to steal. But is it worth it?

The biggest security hole is the key; I had my S4 and my wife's S3 nicked a couple of years back when our house was broken into and they took the keys. I am interested in security options that fill that gap.

I keep my keys in a safe place overnight - never left where they're easy to find!

Nice car the SQ5, neighbour down the road got one last summer makes a lovely noise. As for security either do the physical security bollard in the drive or fit a proper Tracker.

SQ5's been at Emden port in Germany since the 12th Feb, waiting for a ship to Sheerness - hope it's not going to take weeks! Constantly tracking ships now on www.marinetrafic.com

It will be worth the wait, we've had our Estoril Blue SQ5 for 22 months and 24k miles and would struggle to replace it with something at a similar price,

Will be interested to see the new Q5 but I'm not liking the pictures I've seen of the updated Q3 and new Q7 so far so a Macan may be on the cards next

According to the supplying dealer my SQ5 was still in Emden on the 20th February awaiting shipment. Rang customer services on the 23rd February, they inform me that the car was actually scanned in at Sheerness on the 19th of February! It's probably in the dealers yard and they didn't notice. Seems to me that Audi are nearly as bad as BMW when it comes to tracking customer orders.

The dealers computer system somewhat out of date I think...not long to wait now (I hope)!

Finally got a collection date - 7 more sleeps!

Now up to 27K miles in ours and replacements Michelins are being fitted tomorrow - could possibly have waited another few K but decided to take advantage of the £100 fuel voucher offer with 4 tyres
