Hi All, I have had my Audi S3 for a year now and its been a pleasure. For the future however I would like to get a new exhaust system and stage 1 remap. I do not have mechanical experience and would need someone to fit the system. So what exhaust system should I opt for? I know there are various options, my budget would be about £1500. am I right in saying I get the remap done after the exhaust system is fitted? Any decent local places in the midlands for exhaust systems? thanks
I'd recommend reading this post, plenty of info on there: https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/s3-aftermarket-exhausts-compilation.237117/ Only you can really decide what it is you're after.
I have read that thread before. Maybe my question is what type of exhaust type should I go for and what are the implications. I.e resonated/cat back etc, what are the differences?
Cat back milltek on my car non res non valved. Didn't see the point in valves as I kept mine open on the standard exhaust. Sound fantastic on load and was only £1300
No just cost to buy. Fitting is a 1 hour job on axle stands. It's just nuts and bolts. A ramp would be a load better, but that's all I had. The old exhaust comes off as a complete unit. 2 man job really, but I persevered and got it off and the new one on.
From turbo back your looming at either a sports cat or no cat with a downpipe. Not really suited to a standard car. Cars with stage 1 and 2 especially benifit from turbo back.
