  • Having just had a new egr valve fitted (by an indipendant audi specialist) after the diaphragm parted company and fell inside the inlet manifold causing total loss of power,he drew my attention to the color of the diesel that came out of the fuel filter he also changed was blue.
  • Car was running fine for a week and now I am getting code p0234 on a generic code reader NOT vagcom,This started appearing at 2800 rpm but now i can achieve 3500+ so ifeel its improving slowly,I have just 1 question to ask is it possible for dirty fuel to cause this code to appear ??.
  • Any thoughts much appreciated.

Yes try v power had the same problem fixed today you might have a sticky vanes new turbo if v power doesn't fix

I've had fresh Diesel fuel straight from the pump that was blue....nothing wrong with it. In Europe their V-Power & general Super Unleaded fuels are VERY deep blue. It's just a dye I assume. A bit like how you get red diesel for agricultural use only.

If it was black then you would have an issue (oil mixing with the diesel), but blue is normal.

P0234 is an overboost issue, nothing fuel related.
