New car delivery - detailing question....

Looking for a bit of advice on taking receipt of my new A3 Saloon beginning of May. As my last one had a number of the dreaded swirl marks, and the fact I like to clean/prep my cars myself, I have asked that the garage do not touch my new car, and they have agreed to this and they will leave all the stickers on etc.

Now I'm certainly not at a level of high end detailing, just like to pre-wash/pressure wash/shampoo (2 bucket) then wax - I just need to know what sort of job I face in removing the stickers, and what these stickers will leave behind on the paintwork etc. Just worried that I might need specialist equipment or something if the stickers leave glue/sticky residue or anything like that?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

You'll have a job on your hands removing the protective cover resin residue from the paintwork tbh.....and if not done correctly you could land up causing more damage to your paintwork than what the dealers might have done.

I got my dealership to remove all covers and glue residue with minimal marks and then it went straight to my Detailers for a full body prep and CQUARTZ Ceramic Sealant

Jassy....there's no point spending the £775 premium for this colour and not try and flaunt it at every opportunity even though it just looks like black in drizzly Scotland

Ok thanks for the info. Anyone else had experience of keeping the stickers on and know what the stuff left behind is like?

@Pook - When I took delivery of my new S4 in May last year I asked them not to touch my car
I went on & did the detail myself

I would advise that you allow them to take the white transit film off the car as this MAY be hiding some damage to the paintwork
The adhesive that the film leaves behind is easy enough to remove. I used Auto Finesse Oblitarate to remove it

@Pook - Thanks & your welcome :thumbs up:
Like the sound of your glacier white
White = sealant in my book
I'm thinking of getting a professional detail before pickup, recommendation from my local sales exec. Think they use Gtechnic for their sealant options. It's whether I want to spend the dosh

@Pook - This may give you some idea before you get your quotes as to cost
All Gtechniq Uk Accredited Detailers charge the same price as set by Gtechniq themselves
