Glad you got the repair sorted, what a sickened that must've been.Same here - got the repair sorted and done so collect from the detailer at 8pm. Exciting times Dave!
It has the wow factor Dave.
Loving the silver!
Totally agree had a black Passat and it was hellish. Ceramic coatings really do help though but it's still not easy. My S5 is Daytona grey and I've found that to be a great colour.I've had 3 black cars on the run and they are hard to keep clean.
I love the irony in that I bought a pair of slippers from Costco today. Anyone know a good pipe store? It comes to us all, pipe and slippers next!
I was surprised how comfortable the ride is on the standard 19's. Wonder if the ride is as good on 20's?It is very true. A noticeably more comfortable ride than my A4. Even the kids notice it, but I suppose they are in the back so maybe pick up on these things a bit more.
Normally I like going for the big wheels but the 19" look fine i think and I wouldnt risk ruining the ride. One thing I would really miss from my S5 is the HUD, pan roof and B&O sound I can do without. HUD is nearly £1,500 now and its just too expensive.I was surprised how comfortable the ride is on the standard 19's. Wonder if the ride is as good on 20's?
Very true. I think because the screen is lower than my S5 the HUD would be extra beneficial but like you say way to expensive. It was £900 for my S5 so the options have seen a hike across the board although B&O sound has gone up by only £50.Wow £1450 for the HUD. Never had one so wouldn't really appreciate the benefit. That's pretty steep.
What annoys me most is not having full leather as standard on a car costing around 50k.
I would probably go with Daytona its quite good for keeping clean and it changes quite a lot depending on the light. Given we have the saloon A6 at the min I really want an avant for myself but £55 a month more. Hmm!The blue that you can order (Firmament Blue) is almost black. I don't know if you can order non-standard colours through Audi Exclusive any more? I've seen C8's in Sepang Blue on YouTube, but they were German vehicles so may have a different options path?
Yep was simply saying £900 to £1450 is a fair jump. The HUD's are expensive because, if anything like the A4, a special windscreen has to be fitted...
Totally agree the ride is such a surprise for a modern Audi. Plus the 40tdi is ample and I am debating if there is a need to consider the 50tdiGot my 40TDI S-Line saloon last week, and echo some of the comments regarding the ride, really is fantastic, have to say very tyre dependant though. Test drove one with Pirelli P-zeros and mine was delivered with Michelin PS4,s and its much nicer on the Michelins, also, found using comfort tyre pressures (32 all round) makes a big difference. Super impressed with the car, serene, and the new 2.0TDI is incredibly smooth and refined, not just for a 4 pot diesel, but period!, plenty of performance which is a surprise, was expecting it to feel like a slug!
Get you about questioning the 50TDI, mainly due to the better 7 speed DSG, previous generations would never have dreamed of recommending a 4 cyl diesel over a V6 or straight 6, but this really is that good!, plus there's a certain smugness averaging over 50mpg without tryingTotally agree the ride is such a surprise for a modern Audi. I've been a bit disappointed with my consumption, struggling to get low 40s around town. Only done 700 miles so I suppose it'll loosen up.Get you about questioning the 50TDI, mainly due to the better 7 speed DSG, previous generations would never have dreamed of recommending a 4 cyl diesel over a V6 or straight 6, but this really is that good!, plus there's a certain smugness averaging over 50mpg without trying
I’m sure it will loosen up, for me low 40’s around town is revelation, especially for something so big and heavy andcoming from a Golf R!, only annoyance so far is the slightly abrupt nature of the stop start kicking in, dies out smoothly enough, only thing that spoils the refinement a bit!I've been a bit disappointed with my consumption, struggling to get low 40s around town. Just got 51.1 coming home from work with a/c off, heating on 24c, supplemental heater on, drivers seat heater on full, with drive select in efficiency mode.
