Just found out that that my A4 BE 1.4 TFSI is on its way over from Germany and should be ready to collect by the end of the month. I can hardly contain my excitement with this being not only my first Audi but also my first ever new car. Its also my first automatic and I only got to test drive the manual so that's a bit daunting.

Anyone got any useful tips and tricks with the B9? Also should I be taking my car to a specialist for paint protection? Is it really worth it?

Full spec below so let me know what you think :)

1.4 TFSI 150 S Tronic Black Edition
Quantum Grey
19" Rotors (already received some stick at work for these)
Leather/Alcantara in rotor grey (never actually seen this in the flesh but I reckon its a nice contrast)
Tech Pack
Comfort & Sound Pack
Matrix LED Headlights
Extended Interior LED Pack
Electric Folding Wing Mirrors

Lovely spec but why the stick for the rotors they are great looking wheel.

Sounds a very nice spec, I'll be interested to see what you think of the 1.4 engine and the matrix lights in particular.
Don't know why you're getting Stick over the rotors, IMHO they are the best looking wheel available for the B9.
Can't wait to see some pics!

Don't mind the rotors myself but I guess they blend in the car with the countless Audis with Rotors over the past several years.

Nearly same spec as me except mine ibis white and I went for driver assistance pack instead of comfort and sound. You will love it. I have the rotor grey interior and really pleased I went for it, for me the black was too much with the black roof lining and piano black trim. Depending on what you are coming from it has taken me a bit of time to get used to picking away, very easy to spin the front wheels, but I was in an old diesel that needed a bit of a prod to get going. Just had to adapt my driving style. If you want I can get you some interior pics.

Very similar spec to mine, same choice of interior. With the Quantum Grey I'd say a proper ceramic coating is definitely worthwhile to keep the swirl marks at bay. I got mine done within a couple of weeks of ownership, Gyeon MOHS+ on the bodywork (plus treatments for the wheels & interior). A "New Car Detail" with Midlands Car Care set me back £350 (reduced from £500). Six months on, the coating is performing as well as the day it was done. But bear in mind you can't be taking it to a £5 car wash, need to make sure you use ph-neutral products.

Yeah it's mostly because "everyone has them" which I admit you do see them quite a bit. The first time I saw them I fell in love though I would get the BE just for them if I had to! Although the other styling features included are also great.

Kinda my same reasoning. Black on Black on Black just looks dull. I've never been a fan of bright white interiors though so I've took a gamble and gone for the grey which should be in between. At the end of the day I'll still love the car regardless, I think it's more exciting to do something different rather than play it safe all the time. On the engine side of things I've come from a 1.4 Mazda with about 70HP so while its not the 2.0TFSI its certainly going to be a step-up especially with the S Tronic

Both incredibly nice pictures, You've convinced me so I will have a look at detailing in the Manchester area then unless you have a recommendation? I'll be sure to mention the ceramic coating too. Paint protection and stuff is new to me, I've only ever driven older cars not worth even thinking about it before.

I also got a DTUK tuning box for mine, takes the 1.4 from 150PS to 180PS / 250NM to 310NM... more than enough. :) On the downside, I've almost gone through a pair of front Contis in 8,000 miles!

If you ask the question here https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/forums/detailing.116/ you will more than likely have a reply...
