New a4 (new to me) 3.0tdi sline stronic special edition

Hi all. Just joined the forum and thought I'd just say hi.
I live in Bolton and picked up this Audi A4 from Aberdeen, brought it privately and got it at a price that was well worth me traveling for. It's got 63k miles with full service history from Audi and Specialist. I came from a 2009 VW Scirocco 2.0tsi DSG, which was a brilliant motor but due to starting a family I need something something more practical. I'm extremely chuffed with the new motor and drives like new, although from research the stronic issues are a slight worry but hope its as reliable as my VW DSG...time will tell.

Cheers for the warm welcome guys... I've had the car for about a month now. Done some 1k miles as I've done a road trip around Scottish borders last week. The car is a pleasure to drive and has plenty of torque, also handles far better then I expected. I think I may look into a remap to unleash a few more pony's but I'm not sure if it's safe to do so with an stronic box as it will be close to the torque limit.
Been playing around when vagcom and managed to tweak and add some features like ads. Highlight was updating the mmi firmware and getting 2016 maps on sd card which cost nothing!

Hi Shak, Very nice looking car . You can remap these, although I am unsure about the torque these boxes will handle happily.
The engine is nominally rated 500Nm so it can't be that close to the gearbox maximum torque capacity. I would have thought 600-650 Nm would not be an issue. I believe this dyno run was done on a DSG car.

You don't have to goto Holland to get the car mapped though as @Rick @ Unicorn Motor Dev. is just down the road from you in Stockport.
He has mapped many 3.0 TDI cars including mine and probably a few DSG cars.
