after yesterdays running problems, the car was running fine today. Until I got about ten miles from home when there was an almighty bang so i pulled over. it looks like a quarter of my cooling fan has broken off and my airbag light is on. it drives OK but will it be OK to use as the garage cnt fit me in for a week. thanks all.

More damage could be caused when the fan is in use.

Not the best idea to use it to be honest.

just phoned my local garage and luckily its the belt driven fan not the main one. he said dont drive it as it sounds like its hit a sensor.

if the fan as broken it could be out of balance now and cause further pressure and damage to other components also !!! the question is why as it broken the fan....

its in the garage so will find out next week. as some of you might know, i had a prob with a vibration/noise at 2krpm so garage think could be a bearing seizing? nothing has gone through the front but it looks like it was catching at the bottom of the housing.
