Need help with my A3 8p.

Hi wondered if anyone can help with this fairly strange problem Iv been having with my A3, the engine, radio, dashboard, everything really starts on the 1st click of the key, to put it in a blunter perspective there's, no need for the other positions on the ignition barrel because it all starts as soon as I turn the key, it happened on and off to begin with now it just starts on the 1st click, I asked on the technical questions forum but had no luck so was told to ask on the A3 forum, it's a 54 plate A3 sportback 2.0l tdi 140 BKD, if anyone can help it would be much appreciated, thanks.

New contact switch is probably needed, they do go.

We've swapped these for clients.

Oh ok thanks for the help iv read and heared different things that could cause this problem, thanks again.

Will changing the contact switch affect the immobiliser or will I have to get my keys reprogrammed or anything like that. Or is it just a case of old off new on sort of thing, sorry might be a stupid question but never been a fan of vehicle electrics. Thanks.
