Hello everyone I started a thread a couple of weeks ago due to car not starting I think iv narrowed it down to the ecu getting water damaged. The car is a audi a3 8l 1.8t
Engine code- AGU
Ecu code - 06A906018cj

Took ecu out and opened it up. Was wet inside a lot of moisture and the circuit bord looked corroded in parts.

So I dried it out cleaned it up abit, being gentle as possible, put it back on car. The car started fine the immo kicked in a turned engine off.
By the way before I cleaned it I wasn't getting fuel (not even priming) or spark just engine turning over.

My key fob still works with unlocking doors. So I assume my key is still coded to ecu?

Is anyone of you clever enough to de-immobilise my ecu and maby remap it while it's out :p
Or if it is water damaged and to far gone to make it work. I can maby find and supply another ecu for you to do it.

I have found an eBay seller that will do this but at the moment he hasn't got one for my ecu code and the seller isn't messaging me back.

I am in quite a rush to get the car back on the road if anyone has any ideas?.
Thanks guys

Your keys are not matched to the ECU they are matched to the instrument cluster which is matched to the ECU.

Looks like the ECU has somehow lost its coding to the cluster. Scan the car first. Someone nearby maybe able to help you with a ross-tech cable. See what it says. You might just need to recode the ECU in to the car with your SKC.

If you don't already have your SKC you can read the EEPROM from the cluster to get it.

Follow that. There's a video at the bottom of the page. You will need to find a someone to come with you with a ross-tech cable. To be able to access coding functions.

Good luck. Hope you get her back!

This process is largely irrelevant on ME3.8 as it will most likely be Immo I
