NEED HELP, LOOKING FOR A GEAR KNOB FOR AUDI TT 1.8 QUATTRO(UPDATE MODEL)

Hi, just bought a 2003 53reg audi tt, i know im being picky but the previous owner/s have scratched it to buggery. I have heard the forge big knob is the way to go, but dont want anything too big to handle (im only a wee girlie). So looking to stick with the style i have but audi have quoted 188 pounds!!!!!! I may be daft, but im not completely stupid.
Does anyone know if the Audi A3 part no 8L0 863 278 BR is compatible, i've seen a picture on an auction site and it looks exactly the same, chrome, but not sure as i have not got the part number for mine, which is the chrome one with the smooth long shaft, i believe its the updated model. Any help gratefully received.
