Need Help from somebody with that posh VAG car manual disc type thing...

I know this isnt a S3 problem but a few people on here have said they have the CD with the VAG car workshop manuals on...
My problem is, A good mate of mine has a VW Sharan 1.8t and has been told the DV is dead...We now have one to fit BUT.... where the hell is it?
I can not find it. ive tried to follow the tip but couldnt find the thing !
Does any of these workshop manuals tell you? its a 2001 car

I don't have the VW data loaded but if u can wait til tomorrow i will fire it on and have a look. gimme the year and engine code mate?

oops - see the 2001 now, what engine is it?

Sorry for the delay...
I asked the lad and he said its a 2001 1.8t with an engine code of AWC or AWG he said he wasnt sure from the stamp mark on the head.

Here you go mate, it is number 23 I think you are after, it is the only thing resembling a recirc valve, however it is labelled as an "Overrun Shutoff Valve".

Could you please tell me if number 8 goes on to the turbo?
If so i now understand.
