The beading you get on the rear windscreen, having trouble seeing out of it.
Needs a rear wiper but you don’t have them on saloons.
Do you take a squeegee to the droplets all the time?

Wash day today after leaving it for weeks since l polished and applied the sealant.
So has thehard work payed off and how has it preformed and looks after just a wash only?
40 minutes later....
The wheels and exhaust are coming back nice and shiny. Very little effort needed to get them dapper again. So happy with the sealant recently applied.
Now the bodywork (just used shampoo and towelled dried)
For the paint work this is gleaming beaming again
Got to say impressed with how it looks without adding a ceramic coating which is supposed to make it quicker to clean. 40 minutes to get it like this is not bad.
Don’t think I will bother with ceramic coat since it was quick enough to get it ‘well groomed’ again.

Ceramics are a league apart come the winter wash times but yer cars condition is a reflection of yourself... top work

Awesome thread @A4A4 My Daytona SQ5 will benefit from your inspiration. I had previously had polymer coatings on cars that lasted about 12-18 months and then started to fade so I now have a ceramic coating from new. The dealer prep was minimal and so my detailer confirmed the car was pretty much unmarked before he did a full new car prep and 3 layers of coating. I expect the coating to give me much easier grime removal with minimal 'scrubbing' and hope I can be diligent and keep the car clean myself.

Yesterday topped up the bodywork after a quick wash. Just used reload mixed with some angelwax QED which I needed to use up.
Used this combo:
To get this effect...
After the thunderstorms today the water just falls away leaving minimal droplets on the sides of the car.
More larger beading obviously on the top. Which is a bit heavy.
Bit of a mixup this which performs quite good and gave a high reflective glaze.
Not got the time to keep it showroom condition all the time, so for a quick cheap fix after each wash this will do for now until I run out of it.

It been nearly 4 years but l got a ‘kerby’
Slight lapse of concentration and moved to close to the kerb. Grrrh.... you hear the dreaded scraping noise
Looking at it the damage it does not look to deep.
So can anybody suggest a good DIY repair kit ?
Or best to leave it until l play “kerby” again and lose then get it repaired professionally.

Reading other detailing threads on here my normal washing routine seems a little basic.
So this is my basic wash routine:
Hose pipe down (with hard water 220+) it is here anyway.
1 x bucket wash with car shampoo using a decent wash mitt.
Hose pipe rinse down. (with more hard water)
2 x Large drying towels to dry over the large areas then MF dry the smaller areas with another 2-4 smaller ones.
For the alloy wheels different wash mitt using up whats left in the bucket, may top up with shampoo and water if required.
Finish off with a bit of wax applied with another MF cloth then buffed off with an edge-less better quality one.
Job done..
Oh noJeez, looks big to me, as covers large area, but as you say "light" in the sense hopefully no buckling of wheel.
Hmm, I would say re-furb job

Yes , it is looking to much of a job to DIY.
Bit late now but I should have activated the kerb-view function for passenger side mirror.
I’ve been using the virtual drone view on my SQ5 (via 360 cameras in the ‘Parking Assistance Pack’) to make sure I’m not about to clip kerbs. Unfortunately it doesn’t have a wheel view like the new A6/A7/A8.
Dipping nearside RVM requires patience to let it adjust when you engage reverse, I guess you have to be unrushed to use it...

That's sounds cool, wish I had that tech. I had to make a quick manoeuvre to get out of the way and rushed it, hence the mistake.
Nothing wrong, and seems to work well for you given your results. I do worry about swirls and marrs (maybe overly), hence 2 bucket and pre-wash/snowfoam. I have also just never seem to have good enough pressure to just use hose, hence have had some form of Karcher for years.
@A4A4, as per your thread title, that really IS a well groomed A4.

Bit of a update: lt has now been over 2 months since I first polished and sealed the A4.
This is how it looks now.
No way perfect but well looked after.
Only been washing it regularly since then, followed with a little top up of reload mix. All taking 45 minutes effort max.
Wheels and exhaust tips which were deep cleaned and then sealed a while back now and are also still coming up very clean after just washing.
This is a picture of the recent scuffed alloy.
Kept on top of the interior with the same AG interior car shampoo which is nearly empty after 2 months.
Going to try some chemical guys butter wet wax soon. I like the easy on, easy off idea. I wash the car nearly every week so the products l chose don’t need long durability because l tend to top up with wax after every wash and it looks good again.
For me it’s all about trying to get the best results possible within a limited time. I like a clean shiny car but don’t like spending to much time or money on it.

Still waiting on delivery of this 'CC butter wet wax'
All for £21.47 so should keep me going for a while..

Car was mostly dusty so not really very dirty. So the shampoo did what it supposed to do ‘clean’.
More concerned how the butter wet wax would perform. Since l bought this to apply to a rinsed wet car.
No chance of trying to apply this wax when wet, so had to use a large drying towel to soak up most of the water as the wax would not adhere correctly.
Applied a thin layer of wax to a partially dry car. Left different panels to cure longer and some just waxed and buffed off. Made no difference in the finish.
It does give a deeper gloss finish. Some pictures here.
Time from start to finish was 40 minutes

Since the sun has been always shining lately. I have spotted some webbing on some parts of the paint surface.
On very close inspection you only see these minor swirls in direct sunlight.
(Surprised really it is not a lot worse due to my cleaning technique).
Going to use a bit of meguiars swirl remover polish by hand.
Be interesting to see if this lives up to its name and eliminates this webbing.

I really really don't know why you don't invest in a economically priced DA mate it would transform yer paint and they are mug proof to use ... NO offence intended a das 6 Pro ain't that expensive

. Let me know if you are interested. I have used it only a handful of times; between 6-7 times in the last 4 years and it is still going strong. And I am selling it quite cheap

Thanks you both are right....Eventually I will need to step up and buy a DA. Still in baby steps with this detailing lark.
Going to see if the hand will do it first before using a machine.
