I would appreciate some assistance with these and advice in what needs done - honestly, I am not willing to go to Audi for the work but will pay a specialist if I cannot do the work myself or among friends

There is a TSB for issues with V157 and it jamming. I had mine changed under warranty for the new fixed version. It can pop the fan control unit Fuse and also throw a code. Well it did on mine.

As mine was dealt with under warranty, I'm not sure if you can clean a sticky one up or not. It is just after the EGR valve on the intake.

That would explain the Fan Control Unit code too.

Don't know why I didn't look before (probably as the cars been at the stealers for a week getting the DSG sorted) but Ive found a blown fuse

Fuse 8 Actuators/sensors (engine compartment), radiator fan, main relay for ignition coil

Not sure what caused it to blow but it seemed to be causing the three problems I have.
1. The condenser radiator fans not working
2. Intake manifold fault which is an actuator/sensor
3. ECON light is not coming on when vehicle is stationary - as the fans are now running.

Going to keep an eye on the fans, and keep scanning for faults


I wrote the above before reading Pauls reply, makes sense with it jamming and popping the fuse, if it does it again I will strip down and clean the intake flap up before buying a new one, a new intake flap is £212+vat and thats trade

Hi I have the same problem V157 engine light and emission is on. Mechanic replace EGR valve, clean throttle and delete faults, everything was fine. After 5 minutes light is back on. I am going to visit mechanic for further investigation but I don't want him to rip me off. Any idea what is the problem. Thank you

Have you scanned the car for faults as yet, post the scanned faults log, not all of it just the faulting modules will do.
