My S3

Nice mods - that exhaust looks sweet! Who did the exhaust for you?

I’ve still got mine too. I’m at 207k and am currently fitting a Haldex pump and some tyres and brake pipes. She’s been tucked up in the garage since November as I’ve stopped using it as a daily now. Just can’t bring myself to sell it. My turbo probably needs a refurb although it pulls great still. She got 260bhp exactly on Badgers rolling road. Not bad for a stage 1.

Glad you’re still with us but this forum is definitely getting quieter these days for sure.

Was a place called king custom perfomance in kirkham lancahsire. Made up with it. Not too loud and not droney on the motorway. Would love to get it forged but doubt itll happen anytime soon. Serviced it at 201k. But still need to get the haldex done. It was off the road for a yr with a nakerd gearbox as it lost 1st and 2nd. Managed to save up for another box and new luk dmf and clutch.

Been a while. Bit the bullet and had some bi-xenon headlights made up with the projector lens etched. And also had app controlled demon eyes. Cant wait to be able to see at night when i can eventually get them fitted

I think I seen these on Facebook the other day, are they road legal with coloured bulbs in the front?

Its colour changing and can control it with my phone, yea they have been on facebook :). They wont be on when ill be driving. But when the bi-xenon light is on you wouldnt really see the colour anyway :)

So. Got a few issues with my s3. Got a weird wobble under braking but just ordered some polybushed wishbones. Got a new drivers window frame and door latch to fit along with a passenger door latch as they are nakerd. Finally got some red forge silicone coolant hoses and 2 new foam top mounts for the rear springs as they fell apart when i fitted the 18s onto it. Still have an abs issue which now points to the abs controle module which i have a replacement but looks like a pain in the chuff to fit. But onwards and upwards :)

Well. Engine died. Had new cambelt and waterpump fitted at 191k and the waterpump failed at 220k. Resulted in 14bent valves. Pistons are all good luckily. So the car is off the road getting the head rebuilt so hopefully have it back and working in a week or so. Finally sorted the abs issue out which turned out to be a faulty abs module. So fix one thing and other thing breaks

Sorry to hear that. Hope you can get it sorted

£400 for that work is very cheap....erm a bit too cheap. Do they come recommended? Have ou seen any of their finished work ? googled them, if online/reviews? Did you ever get it done?
did he remove the bonnet, bumpers before spraying?

I would probably need 3 times more that amount down south!
I'm on the lookout to get the roof done only due to classic rust appearing. For me its the finished quality, not so much the money.
I don't believe that paying a high price somehow guarantees a good job hence why recommendation and seeing previous jobs with your own expert eyes is vitally important.
no point in paying for a paint job only to find your car is worth less after it!

Never got round to having it done. Got another quote a few weeks back for a full respray and was 2k. Will end up getting some wrap and wrapping it myself. But will get engine working 1st

Well the head has been removed and cleaned. So 14 out of the 20 valves were bent so all 20 are getting replaced. I should have it back by the end of the week hopefully

Well. Had the car for a while after getting the head rebuilt was going well till its started knocking and the power steering pump went. Ended up buying an a4 b7 s line to get me around while i try and get this sorted. Had a look over last night and found the knocking is down to the power steering pump. So thats abit or a relief but will now look at saving to get the rods changed at somepoint. Hopefully have it working again by next week.

So the shed of mine is still going :) rolled over 218,500miles been given some free wheels which is decent. Will get them refurbed at some point and thinking going frozen gold which hopefully will look good.

Not much has happend with the s3 recently. Fitted the newer wheels a few months back. Gave half of it a machine polish yesturday as the backing plate on my polisher fell apart. So took it out for some pics today. Still has its issues but they will get sorted as and when i can afford it. Its just tipped over 222.600miles now too

Howdo. Im in need of some new suspension. Stuck on which to get. Looking at either a set of AP coilovers or the v-maxx xxtreme coilover kit. The only difference between the 2 that i can see is there the v-maxx have damper adjustment on the top of the strut where the aps dont. Its around £80 more for the v-maxx. Any ideas? Hope you can help. Thanks
