well had this for a few weeks now, as my other car decided to break on me so its off the road till i fit the new engine to it, got this for £2600 not sure if it was too much considering the mileage (which was 145K) its a 2003 S3 full service history and was serviced a week or 2 before i bought it, there are a few problems that i need to sort with it tho. windscreen/headlight washer jets dont work (makes noise doesnt spray) scratches to windscreen dull headlights bumpers need spraying. apart from that it pulls well and i really enjoy driving it (going to feel weird getting back into my other car) so here are a few pics headlight bumper windscreen the 1st bits i got for the car was a forge 008p and a pipercross panel filter, come to fit the filter only to find the previous owner already fitted one. thats it for now untill next yr which i will be getting a stage 1 and getting it lowered heres a pic of it next to my other car
well was meant to be buying a red samco silicone tip off a guy be he decided he would sell it to someone else even tho we sorted for me to collect. but instead that money is going towards a badger tip now so will be better hopefully. just ordered some wind deflectors.
i wasnt so sure when i went to vue and bought it. its grown on me loads now tho. just need somewhere so i can machine polish it
soo not much happening on the car, recieved a few bits, got some paul walker memorial stickers to go on it, new numberplate LEDs and a pair of wind deflectors so come sunday i can fit it all and give it a good clean and a wax if the weather is all good will get some pics then will have a go at clearing the headlights abit aswell also been looking through the service history, its been serviced every 10k by the previous owner (he bought it from new) and was last serivced at 145k (i bought it at just under 146k) and the timing belt has been changed at 70k, when do you think it should be changed again now its at 147k
did abit of a drag race with my mates 315bhp impreza sti and beat him. so need to get it on the rollers as im not sure its got 225bhp. anywhoo been tinkering with it this morning and fitted my new numberplate lights as the old leds have decided to have a disco, and also fitted some wind deflectors too
not much happening with the car atm, just ordered some ASN stickers and i am await some gauges so need to sort the parts out to get them fitted, and also priced up a cambelt and waterpump change, so need to sort some money out and get that done, need to get my car on a comp too and see if there are any errors on there and to re align the headlights as they are shocking at night and quite low
Welcome to the family Easily the nicest colour, everyone knows this, if they say different. they're lying. :icon_thumright:
i didnt like the colour when i went to view it, it has grown on me tho cant wait to crack the machine polisher on it when its a little warmer and dryer
Absolute red comes up a treat with a machine polish. Then stick some sealant and a couple of coats of wax on it, looks so wet.
Stone Chip Repair Guide - Detailing World That might be some help, you're front bumper does look pretty bad, but if you're going for it resprayed, it might be worth giving it a shot anyway. Could save yourself some money.
cheers for that, read them as i thought about doing that with my old car, i resprayed the whole bumper instead will give it a whirl tho
Hi and welcome mate, wise choice to move to an audi and for the price of the 8l S3 they are definitely an under rated hot hatch but also a luxurious cruiser at the same time. Although the 8l chassis are now getting older and more miles on them they can stil go and look like the part with a bit of tlc! Anyway hope you enjoy your purchase and I do like the red ones myself ;-)
cheers mate. yea im enjoying it im liking the smooth ride compared to my celica on coilovers which is setup for track never know tho might get coilies for this yet. needs lowering tho. but cambelt and remap 1st tho

End --------------------------------------------------------------------- quite pleased to be honest as i was expecting alot more to be wrong with it, will get it scanned again in a few weeks see if anything pops back up.
gave the car a quick wash and wax today and upon closer inspection i think its going to need a full respray not just a front end job there scratches and dints all over so will be getting quotes and getting it done in a few months or so if i can get the money together, you can see the front and rear bumper have been resprayed badly and are dull too, bit miffed but hey ho looks decent from a distance and i love the colour now plans for next day off (if the weather is nice) is to clean the inside out and hoover it, change the broken dipstick holder and do the N249 bypass mods done to it so are (not many) Wind Deflectors Full Interior LED pack Pipercross Panel Filter Forge 008 Recirc Valve
Looks good mate. Does look like the bumpers are a slightly lighter colour to the rest of the car. Roll on sprayday!
aye, sprayday wont be for a while yet, need to get the celica road worthy again so the missus can get to work and will need the money for the spraying, but hopefully have is sorted tho
just done a couple of photshops on how i would like it too look, if it ever gets that far, not too sure if this is the route i want
Got to love the red and black I'm wanting to get my roof wrapped next. Edit: Here's my slow progress down the red/black route.. One of these day's I'm going to do my own progress thread and stop high jacking other peoples.. Callum.
Another Preston member. Jeees we're like rocking horse ***t!!! Have to have a play sometime
Top tip for polishing your pipe "oi oi!!!" - Bit of fine wire wool and Autosol (or Peek) will get those dull grey/black tips nice 'n' shiny :-D Looking good though so far dude....shame it's not a noggy ;-)))))) hehe
thought about cleaning the exhust but not used to standard crappy ones so dont see the point in cleaning them, i have the stuff to do it tho , i do like noggy tbh but now ive seen this properly clean i think i prefere this colour on s3s,
I'm liking the bottom pic with the red around the edge of the rims, reminds me of the Audi Rotor alloys I'm thinking of fitting to my car.
Done abit on it today. went to a bodyshop to get a quote on getting the bodywork sorted and been qouted £400 to get front and rear bumpers, bonnet abd wings resprayed and blended and a few minor scratches touched up which im happy with? Went to a bodyshop a few weeks back and they quoted £250 justfor the front bumper. Done the N249 delete too lost half the skint on my knuckles but got there in the end, just need a new plastic bit that sits in front of the inlet as i had to smash it as the screws were seized abd rounded also while that was off i replaced the dipstick pipe as that was broke.
