My new quattro

Thank you but it was pictures of the placing of the tool kit within the newer saloons than mine and then, if possible, what is in the wheelwell. It doesn't look as if the placing of the toolkit in the Avant has actually changed...
Apologies SwordfishCoupe as you posted whilst I was typing a reply, in looking at it closely I think it is the saloon and one of your previous posts confirms this.
They really have changed the location..

Mine is an late 2017 registered saloon.

May be due to the quattro diff raising the floor of the boot then, as mine is front wheel drive. Anyone else with quattro built in late 2016 can confirm?

Mine is a late 2016 S4 Saloon and my toolkit is in the polystyrene thingy that sits on the space saver, in the boot.

Under the spacesaver you mean? Though it seems it is completely random then...

No it's on top of the space saver, under the boot floor. I'd take a picture but I cycled in today :)

It is almost like they got confused in the assembly line and fitted the Avant toolkit location into certain saloons...

I also have a different boot carpet with a tab to pull it forward from the rear seat to access the toolkit

Is the boot carpet the same between avant and saloon (size)

Between the two the boot widths are the same at 1000mm but the saloon is a tad longer at 1081mm compared to the Avant at 1050mm.

Gave the engine bay a little detail yesterday

Fitted boot net storage on right side, will need to connect the 12V outlet at some point.

So the whole of the side trim needs to be out to install? Also can I ask where you got the net from? Might order one in for mine when I get my A4 which should be later this week! Can’t wait!

Thanks

Yep the whole of that side will be a bit tricky if your a novice, unless yours in an Avant? that's a lot easier as you only need to remove the recess section and replace with net version.
the part i used was 8W5863880C CA9

I managed to get one off eBay germany for a lot cheaper, direct from Audi would set you back a lot more around £140 IIRC
found one here which should fit, however you will need to ask the seller how much to ship to UK

Thanks for the info Ras.

Yep I’m definitely a novice but it shouldn’t be too hard to work it out.
Sorry for this stupid question, does the normal saloon boot have a 12v socket? Or does the that right panel add one?

It adds one, I doubt the new saloon would have one. There is nothing as far as I can see where I can tap into if I get round to this it would need to run from the rear console
