the car was in the classified section advertised by nervous. i was in two minds either this or the bm 325ci m sport but was hard finding one with smg gearbox but when i drove the s3:wub: i fell in love with it and the colours amazing. i was planning to get a dump valve on the car by next week. do you know whos the best?
 
Get either the hyperboost or the forge 007 diverter valves

do a search on the forum regarding dump valves, they're not recomended on the 1.8Ts...

Dont do it. You would be guilty of turning a refined car with class into a chav mobile only fit for cruising high streets and mc Donalds car parks.

Yes, fair enough, just re-read my post and it's a bit harsh. All A3/S3 newbies welcome of course, had a bad day and just saw the caps lock and txt speak. Nothing personal and no hard feelings.

Enjoy the new S3 - fantastic choice of motor! Great colour too, second only to black.

Seriously though, you can get some valves that part recirculate and part vent to atmosphere. Might be one route to take.

But the reason for the recirc valve is to recirc the compressed air back round to the turbo inlet, to keep the turbo spooling during gear changes, throttle lift off. (Just in case ya didn't know, sorry if you did)

i think that was the s3 i was gonna buy but was too late, the guy had already said he'd keep it for someone who had booked their flight up from London. :( well done if it is that one. nice car!

Nice choice of colour i love Imola!!
I tried racing an Astra VXR, 30-100 i had him easily but after that he overtook me :(

i was 5-up though!!

yeh chairs mate! hey guys dont get twisted the car is beutiful as it is and not planning to do much to the car! planning to get some spacers to bring the wheels out bit to fatten the car a touch, some light tints im new to the site so not to sure wat to do with the engine but nothing big! just looking for some advice from you guys for some suttle and safe mods:icon_thumright:

ive got a cold air induction kit and a forge 007P diverter on my remapped 1.8T A3, and i can certainly say the sound from the forge is LOUD.

not as loud as your typical scoob, but my mates can all hear it from a good few hundred yards away apparently. its just a FAR nicer sound than a recirc, its still a woosh, but somehow more refined, and obviously not atmospheric.

go with the forge, you wont be disappointed!
 
Hi Saf,

I'm glad your happy with the car! Don't bother with an airfilter mate, the factory one is very good as it is power wise. Just make sure you change it regularly i.e. every 10k or so. I've PM'd you also!

Go easy on him guys, he's a top fella.

@ Wawab, yes its the same car I think - Andrew right? I promised Saf first refusal as he went to a lot of trouble to come up and view it.

Ah Yes, thats right, there was another guy interested from borough, he must have been Andrew. There are lots around for sale but not many with low miles and in excellent condition

It looks like you found a mint Silver one thought!

TBH, The S3 looks fab in most colours except black IMO. Well not that it doesn't suit it but they just look like A3 T's at first glance but I guess that appeals to alot of people!
