My modified A3 (So Far)...

Hey all, I took a few pics of my modified A3 today and thought I'd post them up to show what I've done to it so far. I've still got to swop the tinted tail-lights out for some nice LED ones I've seen and put on some rear wheel spacers. Comments (good and bad) are most welcome

Front end looks mean, not sure about the spoiler though. Has it been dropped? That would set it off a treat. Nice one.

Yep it's already been dropped 30mm all round, didn't really want to drop it any lower because I value my sump

The thing about the spoiler is it's really quite difficult to find a non-chavy looking aftermarket spoiler for the A3, I wanted something a bit different but also fairly subtle, I quite liked the Seat Leon style spoilers but I didn't think it'd fit.

Looks nice..... definately agree about the rear light situation tho, think it would completely change the look of the car, never been a fan of black rear clusters.....i reckon the standard face lift rear clusters would look best !! oh yeah....i'm liking the wheels and the badgeless front grill !!!!!!:thumbsup:

I like the front end.. When you smoothed off the numberplate recess why didnt you blend in the valances too? That would look awesome imo..

Again agree with the light change, also not sure about the spoiler either, you can find a simple S3 spoiler off the bay for about 50 pound, very subtle too or just leave it off.

Ditch the spoiler change it for an S3 one if you want a spoiler.
Facelift rears
Lower it properly! The back looks much higher than the front for some reason? Coilovers...

Yep I thought about getting the lower bit done too but was a bit worried about the effect it would have on my radiator [not getting much air-flow to it] so I decided against it. You're right though, I think it would look pretty cool :icon_thumright:

A3 Turbo - I know what you mean about the back being higher than the front. I went for a 30mm drop all round so I'm guessing that the springs provided for the back are longer than the front ones. Also the rear wheels need pushing out 20mm to be in line with the arch but the front ones are already pretty much in-line. This could also be adding a bit of an illusion to how far away the tyre actually is from the arch

The front end looks good im not too keen on the rear lights but the thing is dont change them cause others dont like it, if you like how your car looks good for you dont change it, its your car not ours
