Thought I would start a dedicated thread to the mods I have done so far and the plan going forward. I bought my bitdi Avant a couple of weeks ago now and loved every drive since. These cars are truly amazing. Anyone who has the opportunity to own one needs to take the bull by the horns as you will not regret it. I was considering a 2ltr ultra and I'm so glad I went for the bitdi instead. So so far I have changed all interior bulbs to led. I was surprised to find the footwell lights are already led as are the number plate bulbs. I've attached some pics of my car. Cheers Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Yesterday I went ahead and debadged the rear of the car and changed the wing badges for the black version. I've ordered black rings for the back of the car and also ordered an RS6 grille Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Just a quick update as my new 3d gel short plates have arrived. I'm a little gutted i didn't go for 330mm for the rear but i was worried about the screw holes in the tail gate showing so went for 400mm. I would appreciate anyone's opinions please Thanks
Debadge is on my to do list - looks good! Any thoughts on the front calipers ? You have the same problem as me - the casting has turned a weird colour/pitting. Probably all the salt over winter. Unsure if I should paint them silver or just buff them up and seal them
I'm actually planning to paint mine black and have purchased some lovely high temp 'Quattro' decals in white.
I think red is a little to much imo. what is the part is the centre of the caliper which has been painted black in your photo? an inspection window to the pads maybe?
I'll let you go first! I'm thinking black or silver/grey. The part painted black is part of the anti rattle spring.
Little mod today but still a mod. Padded boot liner fitted. Fits like a glove. Dogs will be happy and my carpets don't get covered in fur Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
I bet you have to watch the acceleration with the dogs in the boot hahahah Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cheers Bobby. I can't figure out how to change it lol. I did notice that though Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Cars just been in to Audi for brake fluid change and health check. They found absolutely nothing which I'm very happy with Tried to get me to get the Aircon regassed for 70 quid lol. And tyres on 4mm. They wanted 197quid each for P Zeros. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Looking good with the updates. I have one of those boot covers. If you wash them, make sure you have replacement Velcro ready! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Little more progress. Black rings now fitted.. Annoying thing is you can still see where A6 and TDI badges were, I my when the sun hits it though Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Looking good, those plates do look ace! love the clean look on the back, when I picked mine up the previous owner had opted for the badge delete saved me a job! Debating to removing the Audi badge on the back at the moment. I’m not into the badged up look so removed the wing badges, the grill Quattro badge is still on for the moment but may ditch that for the complete under the radar look. I just ordered one of those boot liners last night. Am glad you rate it, as I was worried about its quality after reading mixed reviews. I need to stop reading about all these mods, as I haven't even got the car yet & am already salivating at the thought of RS6 grille and Maps etc . Your car looks mint mate.
Thanks mate. The boot liner is great. Fits excellent and covers all areas. I've ordered another RS6 grille from China so fingers crossed this one make sit through customs lol Really want to get the front end sorted and get the shirt plate on. When do you pick your car up mate? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Nice one. Can't wait to see the pictures when you get the grille fitted. In fact I'm relying on your 'after' pictures to help me persuade the missus that it's worth the money Picking mine up on Saturday lunchtime. Can't stop searching YouTube for videos of the BiTDI. Mainly just to hear the engine.
It's sounds awesome mate. You won't be disappointed. You'll be accelerating up to 30 in second using the paddles everywhere you go lol. I'm considering the kufatec sound booster buts it's a lot of money just to make it bit louder. Look forward to seeing pics of yours. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Yeah I think the power & sound will be fine for me for a good while. Going from a 2.0TDI A6 C6, I'll feel like I'm in a rocket. Oh yes, I'll be experimenting with the paddles quite a bit after collection, feeling like Lewis Hamilton.
Don't forget the launch control. It almost pulls your face off lol Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Haha, yeah I read about that last night and went a bit weak at the knees at the thought of trying it. Better try it while wife's isn't in the car or I'll be well & truly shouted at. I take it you've practiced it a few times. Just in case you need it in emergencies in future of course lol.
Yeah I can get it ready to launch in a couple of seconds which will be handy at the lights if some dik in a fiesta st thinks he's mika hakkinen lol Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Haha. You know how gutted they'd be losing to a diesel family car. That's the beauty of debadging (other than the car not being stolen) - the element of surprise.
Get the shift lights activated, makes banging trough the gears on the paddles more fun Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have a 'version' of VCDS but it won't work on my 16 plate, so I'll have to upgrade to enable that feature. Think I've seen the shift lights on a video somewhere though and it does look awesome! Alarm chirp & needle sweep are on the to do list too.
They don't sell them anymore. New legislation means legally you cannot sell an aftermarket product branded as Audi with the rings on it Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
