My B6 progress thread...

So, at the minute the car stands thus:

Today is D day. That god awful shiz on the bumper is coming off. Bonnet and bumper grilles are coming off too, so my friend car wrap the chrome in satin black. HID kit's going in (5000k 55w, closest I could find to OE look) . And, best of all, my coilies are finally going on. Not gonna go stupidly low, as it's my daily, just want to get the stance nailed. Depending on how it sits, I'll order the spacers tomorrow, then decide whether to flog the wheels on and get some LMs/CHs/something unimaginative that looks amazing or not.

I'll update with pics later when it's all on. WHat are the opinions on the way it's going?

Not-so-distant-future-plans include a nice rear diffuser (S4 maybe?) with two twin 2" exits, for maximum smoke throwing, and maybe some sort of wrap on the mirrors (brushed silver or carbon, depending how boy racery I'm feeling at the time).

I'm not going for a "modified" look, more of an updated OEM+ kinda thing, if that makes sense.

Coil overs are proving to be a nightmare, on the front anyway.

Youll be pleased to hear the black bit has gone off the bumper, and looks a million times better for it.

Tried my friend's LMs on, nod they looked perfect, so they're going on tomorrow. So mine are up for sale

It's done!

The rears had to come off a couple of times to remove a platform and a rubber to get it sat right...but it's down. It looks RIDICULOUS on the 19"s TBH, plus it's absolutely filthy (and I want to go to the pub!) so I'll wait until the new wheels are on tomorrow evening and it's shinified before I put pics up.

The front looks a billion times better without the awful black thing on (although, as said, it was a very good job!) . Debating now whether to do the grille surround still, or leave the standard chrome on. We'll see tomorrow.

Sorry guys, had a bit of a nightmare the last few days! Suspension and wheels are on now, just needs some tweaking to get it sat right (and make it actually driveable!)

This was how it looked when we first got all four corners done. Excuse the filth:

Sat well, but was basically undriveable due to scrubbing issues.

Managed to get it home:

Then the fun really started. A mate and I got the wheels on last night, which was a nightmare in itself. It needs to come up slightly at the back, and I need some 205 section tyres for the front so I can sit it right but you get the general idea:

What do we think? Honestly...

Sorted the stance on the back now, it's sat spot on! Just needs to sort the front out now. Need to get some narrower tyres so I can dial the ride height in correctly. Then it's exhaust time...

I like that, a lot!! Love the colour and the wheels. The drop makes it look amazing.

Are the front tyres a bigger profile than the rears? It looks like it, but then I am running on a few hours sleep so my eyes are playing tricks on me no doubt

Oh, and did you fit your HID's? If so, how are you finding them?

Thanks guys . The pics don't really do it justice, unfortunately. The boot looks a million times better without all the crap all over it. Remove your right hand side badges first, as I do kind of wish I'd left the A4 one on sometimes.

The car actually rides really really well. Obviously over big stuff it's slightly crashy, but otherwise you'd never know it was on coilies. Genuinely impressed with them.

They tyres are 225s all round. The rears are 9js, front are 8js, so I need to go down to a 205 on the front really.

Took a couple pics of it yesterday, after making it beaucoup shiny.

Had all the little parking dents and dings taken out of it the other day. It's made a huge difference.
