Hello here is my first audi a4 2.0 tdi avant sline 140 2007 with only 49.000 miles

I used to have a mk5 golf 2.0 gttdi sport 170

Any recomendations on what to do and what not to do
I have done the following up to now
Wind deflectors
Plate holders
Pressed plates
I have also got an aftermarket cd player to go in which i took out the golf

Problems allready are
Dodgy thermostat (takes ages to rise ..and when it does it drops, heaters are luke warm)
What is the cause i have read up and people say its the sensor??

Glove box light only works sometimes
I have read it may be the arm
How do i fix this
Car has 3 months warranty so ill get them to check it out

I also have a dash cam from costco
(You can use the wire or charge it up)
I would prefer it to be connected directly to the car...hoe would i go about doing this instead of using the 12v socket

And also can i move the socket to where the front ashtray (how to build thread etc)

I have allot of questions lol

Thanks in advance

P.s i am from County Durham England

Welcome to the forum mate. Looks like a nice example you have bought yourself.

Have you had the car plugged into vcds yet? That should throw up any issues with the thermostat.

I would recommend a remap, the 140 responds well to it and should see your power output rise to around 180, other than that it really depends on how much money you want to part with and what you want from the car

Thanks
My golf was remaped before i bought it
I got the egr and dpf done.....lots of problems after that so think ive been put iff with engine mods lol

Dont know weather to get hids or not
I was also considering to get the windows tinted too..not too dark tho

Welcome Craig. Either sensor or the motorised flaps are stuck. Hopefully your dealer will sort the issues.

Oh! and why is snowing just on your car?

Just an update on my car
It is now fixed
He replaced the full sensor so happy days
He also fixed the glove box issue and refurbed the wheels to a perfect standard this time

hi mate, my 140 started like yours, lol. spent loads of dosh on mine to get it how it is now heres what i've done it may give you some ideas.

fitted a rs4 rear anti roll bar, made a massive difference to the handling,
i've put a rear twin exhaust valance on and a milltek twin exit exhaust, with a decat.
changed all interior bulbs for l.e.d along with parking lights and number plate lights,
lowered it on eibach street pro springs,
19" rotor rep alloys with falken 453 tyres,
put a k&n filter in, wont of made much difference but hey ho,
cupra r splitter,
s4 mirrors,
wind deflectors,
tints on the rear windows,
done the ambient light in the front,
and i'm running a dtuk tuning box.

i probably missed a few things but that lot will get you thinking .

Whats the difference to a4 and s4 mirrors
And mych was the anti roll bar

They give you an extra 50 bhp lmao,

sorry mate, they are aluminium mate thats all really the just look nice

The arb was about £180 i think

On the dash can wiring I used a piggy back blade fuse from eBay, basically I used the window wiper fuse and piggybacked from that, that way your dash cam would come on and turn off itself from the ignition instead of using the cigarette lighter socket which is permanently live.

Still don't understand the dash cam phenomenon. What does a driver get from it, apart from crashes happening in front then being uploaded to utube? Reverse I understand but dash? Just don't dig.

I agree with the rear being quite important, however alls the rear will show you is someone going into the back of you

The front however will show people pulling out infront of you (quickly pulling out of junctions )

I also got my windows tinted yesterday aswell as the scuttel panel cover
What yous think

If you lived in the Midlands you will need one, plenty off Crash for Cash bandits there. They flash their lights as if to let you out of a turning, then deliberately ram you, another scenario is slam on their anchors for no apparent reason and hope you run into the back of them. If you have dash cam footage the insurance compnies will accept it. Plenty of examples on Youtube.

around here in mad surrrey its a standard requirement when parking or attempting to park in sainsbury's , well anywhere for that matter, madder than mad.

Seems to be a spate of 80 year + drivers ramming shops around here and the one in at a Costa Coffee.
Dash cams wouldn't help in that case.

But of an update for my car...its been awhile

In no particular order
My warranty had run out...so i treated the car to a full service £££
Full fluid change
Oil pump shaft modified...just as well as it had some play.
Had both front stableizers replaced as they were worn
Fitted the seat leaon cupra R spliter
Debadged the rear

Thats about it realy...untill next time
