After around a month of looking i finally decided on the A6 Avant i wanted. So i made the 3 and a half hour journey via 4 different trains to go and pick it up!

To say i am happy though is an understatement, the car is a dream come true for me.

It is the 2.0 TDi Ultra Black Edition with the Technology Pack. Its a year old and has only done just over 4,000 miles as well so is pretty much as new.

I have already ordered new wheels for it because as nice as the current wheels are they are way too common for my liking. On another note, does anyone know who much they are worth in order to sell at all? Tyres are 255 / 35 / 20.

Anyway, on to the photos i guess! Only taken the 4 on my iPhone so far though.

Congrats mate, lovely car :) I think it looks great in white!

What wheels are you replacing the rotors with?

Ah cheers mate!

Went for Rotiform TMB's... been obsessed with that wheel for a long while so can finally justify getting a set, :grinning:

Ok so whilst waiting for my new wheels to get delivered, i decided to fit the new interior led's i had bought last week.

Was initially rather wary about taking apart the interior of such a new / expensive car but was easy enough in the end.

So happy with the difference they make though, makes you wonder why Audi don't just put these led's in as standard anyway. Especially as the footwell lights are white led looking light!

Looks good, so much nicer light than the yellow light the originals give off.

I presume that your car has the lighting package as well, for the lights under the seats and rear door puddle lights. I changed these as well, as at full brightness on the MMI they hardly gave out any light.

I did the glove box, boot (I put in a 20 LED one in there as the smaller LED's did very little in illuminating the boot) and vanity mirrors (which were a pig and not 100% as the can diminish or flicker dependent on ignition being on and if headlights are on).

How many times have you washed the car, love your colour and mine - the problem being they show and grime up terrible.

Martin

Nope it hasn't got the lighting pack, I haven't got the puddle lights in the rear doors. It just has the under seat lights for the rear.

Which again i don't see the point in rear door puddle lights not being standard either, lol.

I found the glove box one quite weird formits position as once something goes in it, the light is blocked, lol

I actually only washed it for the first time today! Took quite a bit longer to do as well than my 2004 A4 Avant used to!

Although I wanted to wash it again when I got home as was a bit dirty again with dirt from roads and the the tyre gel had sprayed up little black dots onto the lower doors, lol

Yeah to be fair I vary my other detailing stiff quite a lot but for some reason I just always buy the Megs tyre gel... have done for like 2 years but definitely need a change now I think!
I'll have a look into that foam now though, cheers

I know exactly that feeling.

I find tyre foam is hard to apply without it going all over the wheels and arches, I've switched to gtechniq using a foam applicator

Is gtechniq the one where you have to mix it together prior to using or does it come all ready to use?

I may have completely made that up too! Lol

Foam tyre applicator is good, but could be applied with a polishing pad or cloth

It's easy to apply to wheel and tyre lol

Also tends to end up on the driveway and being silicone based leaves a long lasting mark

Sorry mate I can't help on that but am sure someone else here will know it

Also fitted my new wheels over the weekend, which i absolutely love! Albeit it makes me think i need to lower the car slightly in the somewhat near future!

19 Rotiform TMB, spaced out 20mm front and back... All photos are from after i fitted them so car hadn't settled back down yet.

Let me know what you think!

Funnily enough i had a B6 Avant Sport prior to this as well, (well still got it but trying to sell).

The difference in the 2 cars is absolutely insane fair play, really shows what 12 years in the car world car make! lol

Lovely car but if I'm honest I don't like the new wheels. That's said it's your car and as long as your happy with it is all that matters.

So having sold my old Audi Rotor wheels I have now reinvested the moment from into a set of coilovers.

I have bought a set of H & R Monotube coilovers that should still give a great ride whilst also lowering the car around 40-50mm.

Which should improve the looks and stance of it no end

This week I also had the car booked in for a 4 day Enhancement Detail, with extra of painting the calipers and hubs whilst also fully protecting the wheels as well.

Looks amazing now with all the minor swirls gone!

It was by Scene Clean Valeting based in Penarth. So not sure how local that is to you?

The price itself was just under £600 but that included the price of the Enhancement Detail itself which was 4 days due to what it involves, the caliper / hub painting and then having all 4 wheels fully sealed front and back

Ah I'm based in London, but I reckon would cost a lot more near me, might be worth a 4 day long weekend break :)

Sooooo Coilovers were delivered today

7af6708e90a7f157a6c841cef3596eb3.jpg

Had a couple of quotes from places to fit them, one of which is just to fit them and the other is more expensive but includes wheel alignment and balancing?

Is it worth going for the second option or does the car need to be run in for a while before getting the alignment done?
Bearing in mind each wheel is spaced out 20mm as well

And whilst I still absolutely love the Rotiform TMB wheels I had on the car, they were just too small for the car as weird as that sounds.

After getting it lowered I thought they would look better but sadly not. So I have invested in a set of Rotiform CCV which are 20 inch.
I think you may all agree that from the below photos they look 100% better on the car.
