This is my 1.8 TFSI Audi A3 Black Edition, Never really done a build thread but thought id give it a go!
So this is the car as standard when I bought it in June 2014…
So the first step I took was changing the Grill from the standard black edition grill to the S3 Black edition Grill. Managed to find a brand new Genuine S3 grill on ebay for £250.
Which I set to fitting as my girlfriend went to get 'quickly changed' (a hour later) she arrived back outside to this…
The finished image with the new Grill on…
Oh I almost forgot to mention, I am going for a Storm Trooper look with my car with the black and white.
Here he is giving me the eyes
So after changing the Grill to the S3 one, I decided my next step was to Paint the Brake Calipers and Wheels on the car. I decided to go for Gloss Black with the wheels and Red With the callipers. Here are some pictures of me prepping the wheels before I sprayed them and some pictures when they were sat drying after spraying..
after
Then the Brake callipers went Red…
After this I wanted to add more black to the car to match the wheels and Grill, so i decided to get my roof wrapped Gloss Black. I got this done at Jess Wright Graphics in Bingley. This cost me £100 so got an ok deal.
I even treated myself to a personalised touch, however only some people will understand its my actual last name
And then came the fun part, I took Bella to a company in Bradford called Custom Tuning for Stage 1
My car was running 160 Standard when I came here, We went ahead with the remap and i left here with around 210bhp. This cost me £230. A couple of months later, I went to a different company called FR Tuning in Bradford for Stage 2 and had my car put on the rolling road. As we ran my car, we could clearly see by the power curve that there was something wrong.
Remap by Custom Tuning below..
As we dug deeper, we found out that my car was still requesting standard boost pressure and that the previous company (custom tuning) had only tampered with the timing..
We then reverted the car back to standard…
As you can see, I got lucky from factory as Standard they are 160bhp. and mine made 174bhp
We then spent a couple of hours tampering with her, but had to call it a day due to having a faulty lambda sensor..
In the end we made 223bhp as we started to run lean if we pushed it any further. You can see the drop in the middle on the graph as the car isn't giving the fuel requested. Therefore its back to the bank for a new lambda. Then we will see what we can get.
This is where we are at so far, Updates as and when they come, Thanks for reading
