So just over a week ago I got my hands on a 2010 S4 avant and I am loving it! I had to get something a bit more 'sensible' than my S3 8P as I have a baby on the way later this summer so my obvious next step was the S4! I have already changed the V6T badges for supercharged ones and ordered an injen induction kit... I will be tuning the car but it just depends on how much money I have as I am moving house as well as to when that begins! So here are some pics of the car...

The only other thing I have done is install a tune2air Bluetooth device that works perfectly with the mmi to allow control of music from the mmi on my iPhone

Nice car @Carlos85 and imho the Supercharged badges look way better than the V6Ts. Re: tuning: Stage 1 is a significant difference to stock and completely changes the car but Stage 2 makes it a completely different beast (including with a DSG tune)! If I was you I'd wait, which is painful but worth it

Thanks for the advice this is what I was wrestling with to be fair, I am thinking of waiting and going APR stage 2 and DSG tune at the same time, to be honest the car is quick now so it doesn't leave me disappointed at all whilst I wait! I guess it's going to cost a couple of thousand for the stage 2 map and DSG tune?

I believe they will all cost around the same and under £1900-ish for Stage 2. For APR I would contact Awesome GTI in Manchester as they are their approved suppliers.

Ah right fair does, thanks for the info! I will have to get some prices, I am going to do full LED interior lights in the mean time and just little bits like that...

It is going to be a good project; one that'll keep you happy and missus annoyed . Try @t8ups on the forum as he does LED packs at a reasonable price. I just got my front fogs and rear reverse off him.

I did think about the interior pack but not sure tbh. I like dark inside the car all my interior dash lightning including speedo etc is at its lowest atm.

You can also try Carista app and there are little things you can add if you don't have them already

I already have that and have turned a couple of bits on, any recommendations you have for mods to be done with Carista?

If you car has stop/start, Carista will disable it. :).
You can also stuff a sock in the gob of the seatbelt warning bong.

I've turned on the oil temperature and set time on coming home lights etc and turned on the passenger mirror pointing to the kerb when reversing, I don't have stop/start so that's not an issue and I wear the seatbelt so same there really :)

My kits are just brighter than the oem halogens inside so when lit it looks factory and not like you been beamed out of space.

Boot one is the only one that is really bright.

Depends on what your car came with and what else you'd like to do add including which version do you have (free v paid). Try there website and let's find out

Seems like I have turned on or adjusted all of the things that I can customise to be fair... I have the paid version of the app, quite a lot of stuff was already turned on or able to be adjusted in the car setup menu anyways but the oil temp was a big one that I like... would be good if that could be put on without the lap timer having to be viewed as well!

Yup, the lap timer thing is bit of nonsense, but you have to have it to get oil temp.

Fitted the injen intake today, only been for a quick drive round the block since but the car deffo picks up better and sounds awesome without being too loud inside...

Nice, did it come with a dip stick, if so, previous owner must have done what most do, I bought my dip stick before I picked the car up!

Nah I bought the dipstick as I don’t trust the sensors completely! I have also taken a bit of an intermediate step with mapping the car by getting a DTUK FSR+ tuning box to try... to be honest it has made a massive difference and the car is like a rocket ship! Then I will probably just sell it on next year when I go pulley and remap and gearbox map.... so far very very impressed and nice and easy to fit and remove and considerably more economical on the wallet!

I actually can’t believe how much of a difference it has made, I would be very surprised if the power figure isn’t starting with a 4 now to be honest... I might have a look for a local rolling road and see about having a check of all the afr etc as well as a power run out of curiosity... it could work out to be a good alternative for people with a bit less dosh kicking about...

Finally got the chance to give it a proper clean and polish to get rid of some light scratches and blemishes on the paint, looks so good when it’s clean.

Also got a good deal on a resonated milltek system with the black oval tips so hopefully get that fitted later this week.

So today I had the milltek fitted, I was unsure about the tips at first when I saw them but they look good on the car, especially against the black paint. The exhaust is a bit louder at low speed but is actually probably about the same volume when giving it the beans, maybe slightly louder... I will have a proper drive over the weekend to find out for definite.

How you getting on with the DTUK box chap? Like you I'm looking for a stop gap rather than going full wallet blow out for Stg 2 etc etc. Lovely looking car - pretty much just like mine (though no where as clean as yours i'm sure)

I am sure it is now! I had the DTUK turned all the way up so there are 3 maps and then you can fine tune a further 3 notches... being a bloke I obviously turned it all the way up... this made the gear change a bit Jerky but the car was ALOT faster than before... I can believe it’s easily up around the 420bhp mark... I have recently turned the fine tuning down 2 notches so I am now on map 3 with +1 on the fine tune and if anything the car is even faster and now the gear change is as smooth as ever! For the money I can’t rate it high enough and the customer service was absolutely second to none! I ended up getting the newest unit for my car and it means that you can get it re-programmes for other cars in the future as well if I change motors.

The short answer is that I would 110% recommend the tuning box, I genuinely can’t believe how much of a difference it has made!

Well that is my order placed then! Think I will give the pedal box a go as well, will let you know how I get on. There is a rolling road not to far from me so will probably book in to see what figures pop out...

Yeah that will be interesting to see, I want to get mine on a rolling road as well but it will be a while before I can... it’s just out of curiosity more than anything as I am more than happy with the power that it’s making...
