Music on SD card issue

I added a couple of albums to my SD card and it now won't split into artist/album - I have the spinning circle in the top right and it has been like this for hours!

All the songs are in one long list and playing a specific song brings up the correct album info.

Any ideas?

Just to add I have tried

1. Removed SD card
2. Reset to factory settings
3. Restarted the MMI

How many tracks/folders have you got, there is only a maximum number the mmi will recognise...

2328 files and 153 folders - well under the limit

Ah so you understand the limits, sorry I didn't know if you did. I was no help then ;-)

I did have to double check the limits

If I navigate to folder level it all works fine, just album and artist won't update.

Will stick with folder level for now and see if it eventually manages to work it out!

Found the issue - one of the folders I had copied had somehow become a file - deleted it and copied the folder again and al works!
