Just went and had a look and a really nice 2009 A6, 2.0 tdi 170 with 7 speed multitronic gearbox...

Drove really well, seemed to select gears and go through the gears fine. However I noticed from a standing start if you give it a bit of welly there was an audible whine (borderline rattle) through 1st and 2nd.

I'm assuming it's something to do with the multitroic gearbox, possibly the chain? . . I've never really worked on these CVT gearboxes, but if there's a known problem with them and it isn't too bad a fix I might go back with an offer.

Anyone got any input on this?

TIA

No input other than mine is a ‘09 and the box is sweet. Had regular oil changes under my ownership.

without a diagnosis I’d walk away as could potentially be costly.

however if all it needed was a oil change to fix you’re looking at around £200
