I'm saying goodbye to my much loved A7 50 S-Line and buying a second hand A6 40 Sport (4K). I need boot space (we got a dog since) and given the state of the world right now, I didn't want to take on another high value lease.

While I'm sure I'll be happy with the A6, the sport styling isn't quite as exciting. I'm looking at what options there are to swap the bumpers for S-line / RS6 versions? (obviously no badges) Maybe a change of alloys too.
Is there a recommended path / shop / specialist in the UK I can talk too about a conversions?

Hi Dam0. I afraid I don't know the answers to your questions. I am however, intrigued to know why you didn't just buy an S-Line, since you appear to be prepared to spend thousands on bumpers, paint, alloys, and tyres?

Seems daft doesn’t it.
It was about what I was willing to spend today vs what I’m happy to spend as extra in a few months. I set a budget on monthly loan repayments which didn’t extend to s-line pricing, but I can gradually ‘upgrade’ the body over time.

I would think your best bet is to talk to a local bodyshop with a good reputation for their work. Even if you locate bumpers and any body pieces required in the dsame colour as your car it is highly likely they will not actually be an identical shade so will need respraying to match. Wheels are simple to swap, although in theory you need to tell your insurer you have changed them.

I recently changed my 40TDi Sport for a 40TFSi Sport. The dealer was then listing both mine and a very similar S-line (age & mileage) on their website and the S-line was retailing for about 2k over my Sport. Both sold the same weekend and mine had only been with the dealer for 2 weeks, not even time to get the photos done - so they seem to go quickly.

Fair enough.
