MOT failed on emisions. running rich

hi guys
had my mot today and the car failed on the emissions test
apparwntly not by a lot but it was due to running rich??
any ideas what it could be
its stage 1 mapped by a complete tool
and its possibly decatted???
either or both of these a potential reason??

they tested it more than once
i wasnt there so cant confirm

If it is decatted, then that will mean it will fail pretty much for sure. My stage 1 with standard cat passes fine the last 3 years.

its an extremely strange situation.

i had it mot'd 2 years ago and was told it failed on emissions due to decat so the guy said he will pass it for an extra 20 quid

being unaware it was decatted i did this to pass it

then last year i took it to another place to mot it (a vauxhall dealership)
never mentioned the decat and it passed the emissions test easily??!!

thought matey before had just mugged me off for an extra 20 quid

then this year fails on emmisions again???

so will a decat make the car run rich?

how do you not know whether it has a decat or not. Aren't you building a track car?

What was the lambda readings? cat will affect hydrocarbons not afr ...

Things like post cat lambda being disconnected and n249 can affect fuel trims which will affect overall emissions... Any fault codes?

the car went to be mapped and the guy who mapped it had it for days
apparently the ecu had been encrypted so they had to break the encryption???

he told me that the car was decatted.
the insides had been smashed out ( as its an oem pipe)

thats why im so confused lol
im not car savvy
i can only relay info im told and ive been led down the garden path so many times.

it failed an mot due to emmision

year later passed one easily

year later failed on emmisions????
my car id the only track car with oem exhaust!!! lol
