Doing a weekly oil check I noticed yellow powder on the top hose, a quick look up and there were holes in the bonnet soundproofing.
Off with it and wowcher, it looks like a rodent hotel again.
Little blighters.

just refitted a new one today so I wonder how long that will last.

they just nip up under the engine bay , then clamber up to somewhere snug and warm.
last time they were cohabitating in the pollen filter and the time before that in the nearside intercooler duct.
its allways field mice too, not those pesky rats.

I am guessing , by some of your photos and driveway, that you keep your car in a garage where it is toasty and warm and gives them the opportunity to nip in, find a nice spot and make kissy kissy sexy time :) still amazed at their dexterity to clamber up and choose under the bonnet though.
