    Hi,
I'm looking to add a couple of miniature cameras mounted under the door mirrors to provide a view of the front wheels when parking (wife prone to kerb rash). These would be selectable one at a time depending or road side.

Although I could run them to a seperate monitor screen mounted over the cup holders It would be nice to have the picture on the MMI.

Does anyone know which video standard the MMI uses when the genuine Audi rear camera and controller are used?. The car is RHD located in the UK.

A second question. As I don't have a rear camera fitted on my car is there a simple way to get a video signal into the MMI such as an auxiliary input or must it go through a controller such as the rear camera controller.

    Thanks

Just a small bump following the overwhelming response.

Thanks Marky that's really useful information - I will check it out. This must be a system which interrupts the video stream to the MMI screen and replaces it with its own video feed as opposed to an input on the infotainment controller direct.

Although I intend to fit two cameras I actually only need one video input and will build a small circuit to select left or right camera based on which turn indicator is on. System will only be active when parking aid is active.
