I don't know if this is the right forum to ask this type of question. I wish to updgrade the MMI software in my 2004 A8L from version 0600 to whatever the lastest version is.

First of all, I can't get any information regarding the upgrade path. Do I have to go to version 2120 first, and then upgrade to the latest version? Or can I go to whatever the latest version is directly from 0600? What are the part numbers? Is there anyplace to get them besides a dealer?

Secondly, I understand that either the car should be running, or I should use a battery charger to keep the battery from draining during the process. What size battery charger would I need? I see many types. I don't need one with to jump start the car, but will a trickle charger be strong enough?

I have asked the first set of questions on a number of other forums and have not received any responses. Please help me.

First of all your are in the US, so 2120 (EU) is not applicable to your car.

I would advise you to check what the current US version of MMI there are, 3360 rings a bell, but what version preceed that I don't know.

For updating I just keep the engine running on an A8 as the MMI has a high battery drain.
