My Audi S5 Cabernet 2010 MMI motherboard needs changing. I took it to a specialist in these fields and he told me that it is failing. I was quoted over£1200 To have it replaced. Does anyone know how to do this any cheaper.

By a second hand unit and have it swapped over. You will need to get CP removed. Will be waaaaaaaay cheaper!
There are loads of second hand units on eBay, just make sure you get the right part number to match your system.
Plenty of VCDS owners on this forum that can help remove the CP.

Hi managed to change the unit over. Only to find out that there is no volume on any live radio stations, CD. the TV screen doesn’t work, and the reversing camera does not work,. Can anyone explain why this is happening.
You can’t remove CP with vcds. Needs Odis do a dealer visit. Not all are happy to do this.
It's because you have not had the CP removed from the replacement unit,.
There are a few VCDS owners who have access to ODIS.
There is Alex @ VW Retrofit in Reditch or Rams Kumar @ Vagwerkes near London.
