hi all

have a 2001 s3 amk engine code..

was driving the car at around 50mph, accelerated a little and it started to missfire..limped home just about and noticed the engine light on too..

Could smell unburnt fuel quite strongly and also from the exhaust was a rotten egg smell..

have noticed a significant dip in fuel economy recently too..

have searched through the forum and i am thinking coilpack, maf or cat failure, lambda sensor??

what do you think is the most likely cause?

also anyone in birmingham with vagcom..would pay of course?

thanks

if the engine man light is on, pay £40 and get vag.com on and get it checked, then go from there. you WILL get endless suggestions on this forum, noone knows so get it properly diagnosed:arco:

coilpack but the rotten egg smell suggests a cat converter problem too.......?? Could be a lambda sensor gone bad or unburnt fuel could have gooses your cat.

Good luck

yer id say either coilpack, sensor or cat but vag com will tell you this.
you could try and see if there are any forum members close to you with this

coilpack 4 replaced and all back to normal

cat may have had some unburnt fuel pass through but is ok im hoping as she is running fine now..
