Anyone know how to remove the door mirror glass on A4 B7 without smashing the glass? Looking to upgrade the mirrors to auto-dimming and want to see what wiring is already in place behind the glass.

Mirror glass removal technique?

Its the same as the B6 I think. I found the easyesy way was to remove the black plastic bit on the bottom of the mirror housing (2 screws) then get your fingers behind the mirror clips and prize it away from the mount on the motor. Quite hard to explain but if you get the black plastic bit off you will have a better idea of what Im on about.
This is similar to what the motor should look like the mirror just clips on.

Nice one, cheers mate. I will have a crack at it over the weekend, see if I can find out what wiring is hidden behind the glass.
