I haven't, don't really fancy paying for it. It won't enable more torque unfortunately.Have you thought about the TCU+ from DTUK?
Only if running meth. So, the best dragy times in the UK/US are still going to JB4 equipped cars?

Yeah, I'd rather wait for an actual TCU tune.Fair enough, figured you had paid for map, but didn’t realise TCU map from DTUK didn’t increase available torque, but probably right, maybe only shift points

People with meth + turbo are running 3s and 2.9s. I'll see if I can dig up up some of the photos.what are people’s dragys? I’m not running meth and have a 3.47s 0-60mph and a 1/4 of 11.69s
Map5 with a BMC filter and 99ron ran 441bhp at a rolling road day.

Yes a member running SA map Stage 2 hit 3.7s. I've ran 4s with my Stage 2, I used to get 3.8s with DTUK Stage 2.I know the guys running meth and hybrid turbos from Audizine forum. Has anyone in the UK with a proper remap managed to do some dragy testing? Be interested in what people get.
I believe when bench tuning you remove the ecu and connect to it. Not actually opening the ecu so the anti tamper bolts aren't touchedThe A4 doesn't use the 1.5 engine but personally I would use a tuning box. If the ecu has to be physically removed then the anti tamper bolts would be damaged. Any changes to the map will show up as well...
Its called autotuner-tool.comthe company I think thatcracked the new bosch ecu. It's removed then plugged in. The old way years ago was to physically open the ecu to replace the chipCan I just check then what is meant by removing it? If it is physically removed from the car and not being opened is there not tamper proof bolts fixing it in place? However even if it is taking the ecu firmware from the unit the checksum of the new flash will be different and easily spotted by Audi...
I did, he's going full frame and was selling it for a bargainFair play did you get this off @mtlquattro ?
I did, he's going full frame and was selling it for a bargain
Definitely! I think I'm opting for a JB4 over a remap for it. More tunability and I can change the car on the fly. WMI is also a possibility in the future.got yourself a wicked bargain i was gutted I didn’t have the funds available but look forward to seeing your car develop. You plan on going to Santa pod once you have it all running sweet?
Think you're misunderstanding. Bench tuning is more of an umbrella term rather than a specific process.I think bench tuning is a poor interpretation of what really happens much like replacing chips or chip tuning - which really isn't the case.
I suspect bench tuning may refer to the live tuning of the car with the ECU electronically open i.e. connected real-time and in the loop with the car on a dyno.
Actually physically removing an ECU appears to make no sense.

Never got any lower than a 4s 0-60 with my Stage 2 remap, hit 3.83s with the DTUK Stage 2 however.
Didn't get the chance to do any 1/4mi or 60-130mph runs, but I'm going to try a 60-130mph run today with the hybrid if conditions allow.
Going down to SP on the 29th sounds like a plan!
Sorry my bad, I'm currently Stage 3. My previous Stage 2 remap is what hit 4s.that is strange that with he full map it didn’t produce a better time. Weird, I look forward to seeing some results with the hybrid. Do you plan on running WMI to help further with the fueling?
Sorry my bad, I'm currently Stage 3. My previous Stage 2 remap is what hit 4s.
I'm still working on launches at the moment so don't have any 0-60 numbers yet, maybe later on in the week.
Don't want to run WMI on a daily driver, so just have to wait on fueling upgrades. Still limited to 99RON though obviously.
Got a garage to do it for £250. Few months ago I was originally planning to do it myself but an Audi tech recommended I get it professionally installed as it looked like a pain in the balls to do.fair enough does wmi does sound like a pain on a daily for sure. How easy was the swap or did you get a garage to do it for you?
To be honest, I’m very sceptical of “remaps” that are out there at the moment and JB4 stuff.
I am personally really looking forward to see what the APR and MRC offerings that are being worked on produce, both with and without turbo swaps. That’s where my cash will be going.
In addition, I’m holding out for proper numbers from Santa Pod or similar for 1/4s!
Many people with the JB4s are waiting for maps to become available so that they can run them alongside the JB4. Best of both worlds.I was sceptical at first about the Jb4 as not many people over here have them for the S4. But was worth every penny in my opinion. I also went to Santa pod on a 30° day and managed to run a 12 second flat. A friend of mine with a rs3 normally runs 10.8 but was running 11.3 so I think on a cooler day a 11.5 second run would of been a achieved.
I will still be running the JB4 in March and would love to go up against some people who would have the APR map and other tuner maps to see how they compare. Also with the jb4 I can log everything and keep an eye on it unlike the maps people have pushed out there is no way until something does go bang or wrong then it’s to late.
