Seems like Autotuner have finally cracked the ECU. https://www.autotuner-tool.com/en/newsdetail/bosch-mdg1-with-aurix-spc APR said they're releasing information soon too.
Perfect time for me to just have bought a DTUK box haha. Excited to see how soon tuners have this available
I’m hoping it will be about 440 stock.. question is.. how much would it be with all the modifications
Ah, my bad.. here you go. Miltek Valved resonated cat back exhaust system Miltek downpipe and sport cat ECS Luft Technik intake system ECS Luft Technik air scoop ECS Luft Technik intercooler ECS Luft Technik charge pipe kit Forge Recirc valve
Had a chat with the guys at DMS today, looks like the gains will be about 470 probably more but wont know until we try it. I'll most likely book it in for the second week of August!!
Yes really pleased and it took the guys 6 hours as the car was getting too hot. I had done my research for quite some time and have read up on Durham Remaps and there is not one issue I was aware of from anyone getting their car done. The transformation is great..it pulls through the gears so much better, given I was only expecting 400bhp/550nm this far exceeded my expectations, with 413bhp/613nm. What I found interesting is that the car produced 368bhp from stock (349bhp). I have always used Shell V-Power so not sure if this could explain the extra gains. I am not worried about warranty as I have had the car for a while (9,000 miles in) and to be honest I don’t ‘thrash it’ as it’s mainly used to school, supermarket and as a taxi for my kids. So it’s unlikely to cause any damage with when I do push it to overtake. I also got the remap to help with the mpg. I have averaged 24mpg over the last 3,000 miles so hopefully this will improve by 3-5%. In regards to the insurance I paid an extra £21.75, but was restricted on 20% bhp uplift..mine was 18%!!! I will take the car to this specialist for the oil and full services as I have owned Audi’s for the last 15 years and believe I will get a better service from these guys. All in all a great service and would highly recommend and would like to see what other tuners can manage to get results as good as this!!!
fair enough, sounds like a really good result there, and excellent gains. I am with you on the dealer servicing, as they are all awful (generalising I know)
Interesting as in good? It was slightly more than the usual remap as it took 6 hours (instead of the usual 3-4 hrs).
I really am torn between who to go to now.. I have done some research on the usual suspects but they have nothing yet until it can be mapped through the OBD port - currently its a bench job. They are estimating around the end of the year. So at the moment its between DMS or Durham - I'll do a bit more digging first but both seem very reputable and certainly know their stuff.
Mine was mapped through the ODB port..here is the extract from the posting Durham Remaps did. Another hot and Busy day at DR today with workshop temps peaking over 31°C!! This stunning 2018 Audi SQ5 3.0TFSI 354Hp in for our DR stage 1 custom calibration. This being one of the very first SQ5's to be tuned supporting one of the latest Bosch MG1 ecu's. Once we finished tuning the TFSi we managed to gain in excess of 106Nm and 45Hp over the stock power run. The Audi now producing 413Hp totally transforming the overall throttle response and mid-range delivery.... 413.2hp/613.1nm +45.0Hp/106.8Nm ✔Custom Rolling Road Setup ✔Obd2 Loaded Software ✔Speed limiter Removed ✔Synchronised Dyno Verification #DurhamRemaps #Durham #Remaps #DR #VAG #Audi #SQ5 #MG1 #MD1 #TFSI #AudiRS #TunedSQ5 #TunedMG1 #RS5 #RS4 #RS6 #MQB #stage2 #stage1 #Remap #Tuned #PerformanceVW #PVW #automobile #sportscar #exoticcars #Carsofinsta #Carsofinstagram #instapic #sportscars ☎️ Call the North East's Leading VAG Tuners on 0191 3864370
Interesting.. seems like I may have been misinformed by REVO then as they said its only bench mapping at the moment. I guess someone should let them know its possible then via OBD
Hello don’t know what that ‘boilerplate’ means, but check out their website https://durhamremaps.co.uk/ The remap only became available last week and I have taken an extract from their Facebook posting.
Yeah the remap is using autotuner which became available last week via bench, not OBD2. That image is from a Polish shop I believe which first announced the remap - which is through autotuner. Unless you watched the process and they never connected to the ECU, I doubt it was via OBD. I reckon they just copied and pasted the bullet points from previous posts.
Nope I watched the process and all was connected via odb using laptop and an android hand held device, not close to all the details but all looks fine. Not sure what bench is..why don’t you call them and ask Durham Remaps.
That's really impressive then. Means somebody else other than autotuner have cracked it. Bench means directly plugging into ECU (usually taking it out and doing it on a bench )
I think by bench @Kondax mean removing ECU from car onto bench for remap...apologies if not EDIT: posted at the same time then
Ah thanks..I am obviously not that technical as you can see..nope the ECU was never removed and put onto a bench to be configured..all done from within the car from what I could see...as I said they were good..
355bhp sounds a bit optimistic no? Although the torque figure does look realistic. I asked jfa and amd tuning who could have done it for cheaper but we're quoting 320bhp with similar torque figure. I don't know if your running any tuning box on your car but would be interesting to see your feedback if you do go for the remap. I'm interested to see how different the remap would feel as I'm very impressed with the results from just my tuning box
