This product does take quite a bit of a bashing on ASN so I thought I'd give it a bit of a boost lol This was the 1st tyre dressing I used when I started car detailing proper, around 10 years ago Since then I've used a fair few tyre dressings and always come back to the Megs My method of application - Always on clean dry tyres Always apply using FlexiPads split foam applicator Always one coat Always leave to cure over night in the garage Its gives the finish & durability I want. Not only that its great VFM as it lasts As used on my old Cupra Going on to durability. I had applied the usual 1 coat to the Avant around 2 weeks ago when I last cleaned it I've been away in the caravan for 10 nights during this period. I reckon I've traveled around 500 miles since application Whilst we were away I towed thro' 2 torrential downpours When we got home yesterday I was surprised to see how the tyre dressing was holding up Photo probs doesn't do the condition credit So in conclusion. Its a fab product that IMO doesn't deserve the bashing it gets
I've used it and think it's decent enough too. Think chemical guys vrp dressing (I think it's called) is better though. I have some gtecniq t2 that I don't rate very highly. Sent from my GM1913 using Tapatalk
Looks good, wonder how long it'll be before a certain someone comments about Gyeon tire Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
Lost in a detailing Time Warp ye are mate....lol Autoglyms High performance Tyre gel wipes the floor with it as do a few others My main gripe with Megs is?it doesn't cure and in doing so its prone to sling a little and collect dust very easily...I got my bottle of AGHPTG for £8-95 for a 500 mls cheaper than megs or the same
I would agree with BH here. However, and other than Megs the only other products I have tried are Tac Systems and recently tried neat CarPro Perl (two coats, 45 mind apart and let cure overnight) and imho for me no one beats Megs. And I ain't budging on that. Oh, and Contis are one of the worst tyres I have come across as a rubber - no tyre gel lasts more than a week at max
I use megs. I think it’s great, normally let it cure overnight if possible. Some people don’t like how glossy it looks. But if u wipe it back it calms it done a bit. Also lasts a long time too A7 3.0tdi 272 Black Edition Mythos Black Tech pack
I used the endurance gel too, last about 2&a bit years, but for some reason I decided to try carpro perl, much prefer this product now
I dont want or need to convince anyone about any other tyre dressing mate Megs is the BSD of tyre dressings lol besides bit fed up being the Trawler......on here lol
I Have it in my cleaning kit BUT don't waste money on those so called ''tyre dressing applicator sponges'' just get a pack of those washing up sponges from the supermarket, £1.00 for 6-8 then bin it when finished.
Ahh thanks mate, I recall now! When I saw the word "caravaning" I instantly fell asleep and banged my head on my computer desk so didn't look at the entire thread
I use megs endurance too. It lasts a long time both in terms of application longevity and a little goes a long way. I too use cheapo dish washing sponges but use nitrile gloves also as it's very messy. Also, try not to rub your pants against your tyre walls or you will need to change them. Dirty black marks all over ye slacks Happened a few times that to me damnit
Spam Fanboy Never mate....you do things on the cheap...thats why you dont deviate, then you've never tried Autoglyms new tyre dressing...it's right up yer street £8-40 for 500 ml DELIVERED....
Autoglyms high performance tyre gel £8-40 from Amazon delivered and it cures... Sent from my SM-A705FN using Tapatalk
Does the AG stuff last a decent amount of time after application? What do you guys use to clean the tyre? APC and a brush?
Might give it a shot next when I finish the bottle of Carpro Perl. Still got half a bottle left and that’s been 2 years.
Does it have the ability to offer a satin finish ? I'm not keen on the extra gloss look on tyres Sent from my moto g(7) plus using Tapatalk
I think it mentions on the back of the bottle something about drying off with a mf for satin finish. I just leave it as it will tone down naturally and last longer.
Still lovin' Megs endurance tyre gel On SWMBO's Captur too Gives the finish I want Crazy VFM too Some tyre dressings give the appearance of a gloss black paint finish, which I don't like Got to go with what works for you, regardless of price IMHO
