hi as the title states I have early Agu with me3.8 but I'm looking to convert to wideband or me7.5 excuse my lack of ecu knowledge is there anybody than you guys can recommend to do that for me, as I emailed r tech for a map but there emulator tool for the ecu has been damaged and they aren't going to get a new one u till end of summer or early winter as they don't have many of these in aparently, so if I convert I can go to badger5 win win :uk: any help please I want a remap asappppp

A fair chunk of work...

"Easiest" way is to grab all the kit from a donor, throttle pedal, DBW throttle body, engine loom, clocks etc... there may be other wiring involved of course

Tuffty has been Badgering me (get it  ) for years to do this. I've held off so far, but I think it's inevitable soon.

ECU
Engine loom
lambda loom (I think it's separate)
Lambda sensors
VVT (optional)
Throttle body
Throttle pedal
Injectors
MAF
Knock sensors
Coilpacks

I'm assuming as above you'd need the clocks too. AGU clocks have no EML.

Obviously you'd need it all coding together, then mapping to suit your setup.

I'd imagine to do it properly you'd need to have the dash out in the A3 to remove the big cable throttle mechanism / bar too.

it's something I REALLY want to do, but I'm terrified of wiring, and ending up with the car stranded at home and unable to start

Is it really worth it for a ko3s?

DBW conversion must cost circa £500 even if you DIY it, presumably you'd need as a start :
DBW throttle Body
Engine harness
4 wire coil packs
Injector harness
DBW injectors/fuel rail
DBW Maf
DBW throttle pedal
Immo off ECU/recoded ECU
Cluster

You could always ask if Nick would flash you with a generic flash for 315cc injector/VR6 MAF combo, it would let you past the 187 G/S limit of the stock ME3.8 MAF and give you abit of head room.

If going big turbo or hybrid ko4 it makes more sense going ME7.5 or standalone as you're going off into deeper less chartered waters

Sounds easy then... NOT, I wouldn't undertake it myself but I have nobody to map the car and I've just finished getting all parts so I'm dyin inside lol, I rang stealth racing but havnt seen or heard of any results from them before and says I would need. A manual boost controller which I don't want as everyone I hear has leaked or does leak, and ideally I'd prefer r tech or badger5 to map my car

I know what your saying antwan about the k03d but in the long run its going BBT so money side wouldn't be an issue in not getting rid any years to come soon as I already have another daily aswell

It makes sense on yours Nick start getting the parts slowly and pay somebody for a weekend to do it that way u lose the car for a weekend and it's with a professional win win

Well the 02J gearbox is a known problem child as Prawny (the gear box abuser) went through 6 on a torque spikey ko3s so an 02M is future proofing the gearbox.
Forged rods also a good idea......

I'm just saying there are plenty of ways to spend a grand other than a wideband conversion and a custom map that may or may not get you to 250hp if your car is healthy.
And you'll want a remap again after you go BBT.

I know over the years Stealth racing have done 380cc tunes for VR6 MAF's on Me3.8 but I don't know if they or anyone else can/will tweak the tune as needed to be running as best as it can be on your car like Niki can.

If you find another tuner can offer a Me3.8 tune for 310cc+ injectors/VR6 Maf and can tweak/edit the tune to match your actuator and required AFR let the VAG community know.

I wouldn't get it done anywhere that didn't have a dyno....

He did a stellar job on my friends car, with innovate wideband up the back end. I've mapped several engines on megasquirt on the road, and make good figures when tested on the dyno.

I can't even get a map at the minute that's my problem lol
Well, after alot of researching myself and thinking 'surely there are people that have had a 3.8 mapped succesfully before' i noticed on the REVO site they have NDBW NVVT included, i clicked on find a dealer and it popped up with Auto Specialists in Grays, who i happen to know already & be local to me !,

I emailed them & they came back to say 'yeah book it in when your ready' !

Im still in hope though lol, im expecting the worst (oh you have an old agu ah we cant do that) etc

I myself have been also dying inside lol, but it will have a map in the next month !, :)

A custom map?

Revo only have stage 1 for AGU motors quoted to produce 180 - 195 hp on a ko3.
People have had Agu's with generic stage 1 flashes (for the ko3) running Ko3s and they tend to show arounf 210hp hence you'll find threads from years ago where Revo were telling people to use MBC's to hold the boost higher for ko3s.

Some maps use agressive timing and spiking boost maps which may not be what you want if you are looking to push envelopes.

If someone has the skillls to modify ME3.8 maps they can always flash a map, then log the output with Dyno/road run, tweak the map and reflash it. It's just quicker live tuning with an emulator.
Problem is not many people are seemingly willing to edit ME3.8 maps

I've already given the name of someone who does this reliably and successfully

Nah lee he doesn't do them as too much messing around he said not something he likes to do. I know unicorn do a custom map as I'm messaging him currently I havnt seen or heard many people had maps by them personally but I'm doing some digging, and yeah rhino power I'm with tuffty would have to be done on a dyno for me to get the best out of my car it can stay standard map until it's done correct and by a reputable tuner I've spent too many hour and pennies to get a high boost spiked map that's aggressive and generic

Please remove if in wrong place.
Can anyone advise me on what cars models/years/engine codes would be best for me to get in order to convert a4 b5 ajl . I got someone who can get rid of immobiliser for me and moving the harness with ECU sensors etc it won't be much of a problem for me.
Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers
