Hi

Just had a quote for a main service along with Stronic oil change.

A4 B9 SLine Stronic ~38k miles
2nd service, last service at 19k flexible service.

(I haven't got exact prices with me, will update when I do, but total was around £950):

Service £399
Stronic Oil change £350
Fuel Filter £100
Pollen Filter £100

Prices seem steep!

With only 3 months before the car is 3 years old and the warranty expires... would you go to an independent audi specialist instead?

Or would Audi price match. I already have a quote of around £550 all-in from an independent audi specialist.

I'm based in Cheshire.

Thanks for any advice.

John.

how far off is the service due? Seems steep compared to the fixed price on offer for cars over 3 years old according to the Audi website where they've got a major service for 338 and the stronic oil and filter change at 225

"With only 3 months before the car is 3 years old and the warranty expires."...

If you’re in Cheshire try Crewe Audi as the 19k service was £100 cheaper than other dealers in Cheshire.

Thanks, I'll get a quote from Crewe to compare. Original quote was from Warrington Audi, who don't seem to have a great reputation.

Last time I tried booking into Warrington it was something daft like an 8 week wait. That's possibly why their prices are high - demand.

"With only 3 months before the car is 3 years old and the warranty expires."...

Previous service done after 19k miles and car has done 15k since then so may not be due immediately is all.

My service book says stronic oil and filter at 60000km or a little over 37k miles so also not immediately due, if UK ones are the same then OP doesn't need to get it done at the same time as the service and can then do on fixed price once car is over 3 years.

Dont they alternate inspection then oil change? If so that "service" at £399 is just an inspection so crazy high considering they do no actual work.

Yes maybe not and the OP could have it serviced after the three years is up as it is out of warranty then anyway taking advantage of the reduced charges for three years or over cars.
Good suggestion...

Thanks for the suggestion, the service book says 34k miles sadly... but tempted to wait 3 months to get the fixed price.

Actual prices below. Inspection service was lower than thought but fuel filter higher.

Inspection Service (£399) £231.39
Stronic Oil change (£350) £399
Fuel Filter (£100) £209.43
Pollen Filter (£100) £83.62

Will give them a call and see if they price match.

That is why we call them Stealerships, someone has to pay for the bright shiney building and plush furniture and free drinks.

I use a specialist after using dealerships, final straw was the cambelt service at 992 in 2007

Sorry for confusion .. car has done 38k and service is due at 38k as per Pagenotfound. I had it in my mind that it was 34k. (I don't seem to have the ability to edit my posts to correct this).

Anyway .. they price matched after a bit of an argument, just needed to get list of part numbers to ensure they were genuine and the other garage were happy to do that.

Thanks all for your help.
