Magnetic ride Damper replacement

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of replacing Mag ride dampers. Had my car serviced yesterday and was informed both rear dampers are leaking, To keep the cost down is it something i could do myself? i have in the past changed rear dampers but these are electrically connected? Would i run into a fault code which would need to be decoded on Vagcom?
