Machine Polishing

Hi guys, please take a quick read of this:

I'm after a polisher either to rent, or buy if the price is right. Someone has suggested using a sander with polishing pads on. Will this be sufficient or will the sander not spin fast enough, or too fast?

Any help appreciated.

Forget sanders - they very typically have too short a throw for safe use on cars, and do not feature interchangeable backing plates to allow varying sizes of pads to be used. I would keep hunting around until you find either a Kestrel DAS-6 or Meguiars G220 and associated plates/pads to borrow. If you need to widen the scope of your search, why not ask in your regional section on Detailing World - bound to get a response or two and maybe the offer of a loan and even some help?

like rich said go for the new Kestrel DAS-6, and if u hunt around u can get yourself some good package deals....

I think I'll be ordering the DAS-6 hard paint kit from bliss along with a foam lance. Can anyone recommend anything in particular for my Ming Blue paint.
