When you say 'series 35' what do you mean? Are they ET35 (offset) or 235/35/19 tyre size?

Lowering 30mm is no issue. I have 19" 8.5j rims on 235/35/19 tyres, ET33 (ET45 with 12mm spacers) with no rubbing issues at all, not over bumps, on-track, 3 passengers, etc.

You may have issues if your tyres are wider than 235 or if your offset is different. Post that info and will hopefully be able to give you some reassurance

hi mate,
sorry, yeh 235/35/19 tyres is what i meant.
so going down 30mm with some springs will be fine for arches, rubbing, width etc?
you say you have spacers, will the wheel still sit far enough away from the suspension on the inside without them?

PS you got any pics of yours i can see?
PPS where you get your springs from/how much inc fitting?

cheers!

Don't have any links to hand I'm afraid, photobucket doesn't work at my office!

If you currently have no issues with suspension contact lowering should cause no problems. You may experience rubbing on the inner/outter arches depending on your offset...

What offset are your wheels?

30mm will be ok and you should get away with 10mm spacers all round

About £150 on German eBay: Autoteilemann

I can't remember how much fitting was as it was done with some other stuff, somewhere around the £150 mark though. Get a fixed price quote from whoever does the work, as if you have issues with pinch bolts (as I did) you don't want to be forking out for an extra 4 hours labour...

Cheers mate!
not sure on the offset of my wheels, does it matter too much, i assume 'standard' offset would be the case as i didnt state anything special and they are not staggered fitment....could it matter?
thanks

Standard OEM offset for the A4 wheels is ET43, think they're 8j (could be 8.5j? not 100%). But personally I think ET33 sits just about right, you could go a couple of extra mm maybe before they started to poke out from the arches.

If they are standard OEM wheels then lowering 30mm will be fine, however spacers will make the car sit better as the wheels will fill out the arches more.

Note: -30mm springs will reduce the SE ride height by 30mm, if you already have an s-line you will only sit 10mm lower on -30mm springs as the s-line is 20mm lower from the factory.
