Alright peeps..

gonna be lowerimg my car in the new year and decided to go with springs and B5 cups over coilovers.

These are the springs I'm lookin to get, would they be ok on s-line shocks with the B5 cups?

Eibach 50mm/40mm Sportline Lowering Suspension Springs A4 B7 Saloon 1.9TDi, 2.0TDi, 2.0T FSi, 2.7TDi, 3.2 V6 FWD 01/05> - £174.25 : The premier online mail order VAG suspension and performance specialists. We offer a wide range of all the best brand

if anyone's running this set up pics would be appreciated.

Thanks, Craig.

Will be fine, although you may not need the B5 cups because the front will be lowered more than the rear... someone with pics with be along soon to help out :)

i no what you mean but am I right in thinkin with it bein an s-line it's already down 20mm so a 50/40 drop would only be 30/20?

thanks, Craig.

Correct-amundo, take 20mm off the advertised drop if you already have s-line springs.

Are you planning on sticking the the standard 18" S-line wheels?? a 45mm drop (all round) with 19" rims sits almost perfectly. The 40/50mm split would probably be ideal with 19" also, 18" is just a bit too small for the B7. Mine is on 30mm spriongs with 19" alloys, arguably it sits just right, some days I think an extra 10mm might make the world of difference... other days I think it would be too much. Some of it is down to personal preferance, but I think even with 40/50mm lowered on 19" there are no issues with catching the arches.

19" on -30mm H&R springs:

might aswell have coilovers for the little bit extra pal

Yeah I was thinkin of stickin with the 18's and gettin them referbed, that's looks really well that mate I think it would sit perfect with some B5 cups.

The fronts should settle down a bit more yet mine took a fees days maybe a week. The back on the avant is a bit heavier so settles a bit quicker

Here's mine after it all settled down on the 50/40 eibach setup

Thanks for the pic fella, any chance of a pic closer to and at the level of the wheels. Wanna be sure of the gap before I order, Thanks.

Mac

Not sure what to do myself, was thinking h&r springs or the cup kit,i'm not to bothered about coilovers, the springs seem to lower enough plus have had bad experiences with coilovers before ,bilstein and spax, plus car is the main family transport which includes towing a trailer etc so needs to stay practical.Ps cars done 87k

this is what i had before lowering

and the ride is no way as harsh as i thought it would be

gates any chance of a measure from floor to top of the arch?
