Low running temp

Hey all,

So after driving my A4 (06 plate, 1.9tdi) for a couple of months now I’ve noticed the engine temp goes only slightly above 50 when driving it around normally.
The heater is still fairly warm but it’s not hot as I expect it should be.

I have had the temperature up to 90 before but that was when I was sitting in traffic and crawling along.

Any ideas with this, obviously with winter coming up I’d like the heater to be blasting hot air.

Please tell me it’s a cheap fix!

Thermostat stuck open most likely. Shouldn’t cost too much, although I’m unsure of where it is on the tdi.

Is there any way to test for this without sticking it on a diagnostic machine?

Anyone know if it’s a thing I could tackle myself or will it have to go to a mechanic due to it being an awkward place/ requiring special tools?

Thermostat , best do CTS aswell .
