sorry if this is not in the right area but I am losing the will to live trying to sort it

2.8 V6
Auto box - selects and changes smoothly and quickly - no obvious faults
Engine starts and idles fine, pulls hard, otherwise drives perfectly

when up to temperature the idle drops to below 750 at times
when under hard braking coming to a stop and/or full lock low speed turns the engine speed drops and it stalls

starts up again fine

done a full scan and whilst last time I tried to find something causing this it came up with no faults
this time I have:
01120 - Camshaft Adjustment 1 Mechanical Malfunction

it doesn't appear to be out of time, no loss of power or lumpy idle so I am hoping that it is a sensor

I have replaced a whole load of vac tubes with new silicon in the hope that a vac leak could be causing the crappy idle.
Have done a TBA
has new CTS, new plugs

Any suggestions before it meats with a litre of unleaded and a match!!?!??

I had funny idle on my 1.8T many years ago and it was something to do with the N80 valve. Ended up removing the N80 pipework, venting the carbon can into the arch and leaving the N80 attached to nothing and it sorted it out. Worth looking at that area to see if thers anything obvious.

The camshaft adjustment code is usually caused by bad VVT unit.

so just unplug hoses and leave the N80 plugged in?
