Loss of Power - 1.6FSI

My brother just bought a 1.6FSI with 80k.

Car is great, no problems at all until today we experienced a severe loss of power.

He booted it in 1st and as he got to about 4k revs all power was lost and revs shot right down. He changed into 2nd and the same happened, then everything was fine. If he drives casually, everythings fine - it just seems to be when he pushes it, although this is the first time this has happened when he has pushed it.

Ive searched previous threads and alot seem to relate to turbo valves and remapped engines. I'm pretty sure the engine hasn't not be mapped.

No management lights or anything... any ideas?

Any advice apprectiated.

Could be the maf sensor or the temp sensor.

Need to get it on vagcom really.

The car went into limp mode to prevent further damage so it will have recorded what sensor/part was at fault.

It won't be the turbo, as the 1.6 FSi doesn't have one. I would say you need to get the car on Vagcom or similar as you experienced hard throttle cut, it will deffo have a fault code listed for it.
