Please could someone confirm what type of wire is used for the plugs under the seats in the a3. What gauge wire and if its a specific type for the electrics and air bag plug ?

Any help is very appreciated !

is there an exact wire you need? like one from the airbag plug or one for lumber support? the repair wires are different depending on what it is you need to connect.

You need to consult a wiring schematic for your seats, the gauge varies depending on application, using incorrect gauge can cause fires, so don't skimp at all, use the proper rated wired for the system you need to connect.

When working on airbag systems, adding solder has been known to cause resistance in circuit & then cause airbag light/issues, so be warned, audi tech's use new looms or crimp, not solder on these systems.

right cool noted NHN, basically NHN knows as ive asked him before... its the wires for the airbag plug to be specific, i used different plugs to enable fitting the seats i have.

its been re wired with solder which has been said seems to be throwing up the airbag light. just an annoying little job that needs sorting.

NHN do you mean a diagram of the specs on the seats ? Thank you very much

Wiring diagram of the year of car, chassis & yes seats.

If its the airbag system not seeing correct resistance, try removing solder piece & twist wires together temp & add tape & see if the issue returns, that way its not got any solder to add resistance & would let you know where issue lies.
